Know Before You Go for Tokyo National Museum

The museum opens from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with extended hours until 7:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays (except select dates)
The museum is closed on Mondays, but will open if Monday is a public holiday.
Separate tickets are required for special exhibitions.
High school students, children under 18, visitors over 70, and persons with disabilities (plus one caregiver) can enter the General Cultural Exhibition for free with valid ID.
The museum is wheelchair accessible.
Photography is allowed in some areas but prohibited in certain sections.
Please do not litter the destination.
