Know Before You Go for Tokyo National Museum
- The museum opens from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with extended hours until 7:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays (except select dates)
- The museum is closed on Mondays, but will open if Monday is a public holiday.
- Separate tickets are required for special exhibitions.
- High school students, children under 18, visitors over 70, and persons with disabilities (plus one caregiver) can enter the General Cultural Exhibition for free with valid ID.
