Know Before You Go for The Great Synagogue Tickets, Budapest

  • All foreign nationals must share their passport and visa details at the time of arrival.
  • ID proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of arrival.
  • The Synagogue is closed on Saturdays and for Jewish holidays.
  • Please wear clothes appropriate for a temple (e.g. no sleeveless tops, short skirts, or shorts). Men cannot enter the synagogue without covering their heads. A kippah is given at the entrance.
  • Entry with backpacks larger than hand luggage is not allowed.
  • It is forbidden to eat, drink or smoke in the area.
  • Face masks are not currently mandatory but are recommended.
  • Present your voucher directly at the security check at Dohány Street Synagogue.
  • Adult Tickets are applicable for individuals aged 6+ years.
  • Entrance will be closed one hour prior the end of visiting hours.
  • Opening hours may be changed last minute due to services and events.
  • After the mandatory security check, show your smartphone ticket at the final entrance to have it scanned.
  • It is strictly forbidden to eat food in the Synagogue during Pesach (16-23 April). All the consumptions need to be placed and kept in the bag provided by the synagogue till the end of the visit.
