About the Monument:

Visit a magnificent structure, Adalaj Stepwell, that was built to solve the problem of the water crisis in the Adalaj Village. Built in 1498, the Adalaj Stepwell is an example of the beautiful architecture and intelligence of the engineers in India during that time. The construction of the well was made in such a manner that direct sunlight does not hit the steps or landings except during noontime. One of the amazing features of the well is out of all the step wells in Gujarat, this is the only one with three entrance stairs.
