From the location, luxuries, services, staff to food, everything at the Mountain Retreat was superb. Our family trip to Ooty was full of fun and credit goes to the Thrillophilia team and their arrangements.

If you’re looking to escape into nature, Mountain Retreat might be the perfect choice for you. The cottages here are cozy and well maintained, and offer fantastic views of the surrounding hills. The diner here serves wholesome traditional meals, and is worth a try.

Located right in the middle of quiet and tranquil villages in Ooty, amidst rice paddies, is the Mountain Retreat Resort. I actually extended my stay here after initially planning to stay for three days. I booked via Thrillophilia and had a very good experience and service from them as well as the resort. My room was beautiful, and the food here tasted delicious. Great place to be if you are looking for something relaxing.

We were looking for a beautiful budget property in Ooty which is when we found Mountain Retreat on Thrillophilia. The amenities were exceptional and we had a wonderful time exploring the natural beauty of Ooty from here.

Mountain Retreat Ooty Policies

The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email within 24 hours of successful booking.

In case the preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule of the customer’s preference will be arranged and a new confirmation voucher will be sent via email.

Alternatively, the customer may choose to cancel their booking before confirmation and a full refund will be processed.

Refunds in the Thrillophilia wallet will be transferred within 3 business days.

Cash Refunds once initiated, usually take around 5-7 business days to get transferred to the same account through which the payment is made.

Free booking rescheduling if requested prior 3 days or more before travelling date and the same is subjected to availability.

If the tariff on the dates to which the booking is rescheduled to is higher, the difference amount shall be payable by the traveler.

If the travelers request for rescheduling/relocation within 3 days or less, 100% of the booking amount shall be charged as rescheduling charge.

No booking relocation/change of Resort will be entertained whatsoever.

The booking rescheduling requested in light of threat of covid-19, the travelers need to furnish a recent covid positive certificate/report, the rescheduling is subject to availability and the tariff on the dates to which the booking is rescheduled to is higher, the difference amount shall be payable by the travelers.

Thrillophilia reserves the right to cancel a booking in event of unforeseen situation, covid threat and guests safety reasons.

Mudumalai National Park

Mudumalai National Park and Bandipur National Park are like two sides of the same coin. Separated by the border, Bandipur Park lies in Karnataka while the neighbouring, Mudumalai lies in the Kongu Nadu region of Tamil Nadu. Nilgiri Mountain Railway

The Nilgiri Mountain Railway is a meter-gauge railway line 1000 mm long that passes through the queenly hill station of Ooty in Tamil Nadu. The fleet of steam locomotives running on this line is aptly nicknamed ‘the Toy Train’ and is greatly popular among children.

Pykara Lake

Ooty Lake

Also known as the Ooty Boat House, Ooty Lake is one of the major attractions of Ooty, the queen of Nilgiris. Spread over a vast area of 65 acres, this lake was first constructed by John Sullivan way back in 1824. Made with the water flowing down from the mountain streams in Ooty, the lake was initially made solely for fishing. However, gradually it became more of a tourist attraction, and when it was taken over by Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation in 1973, the lake was transformed into a tourist park and more attractions were built around it.

Deer Park
