In this Thai cooking class, the general timing is from 9.00 am to 8.30 pm, and it is available from Monday to Sunday throughout the year. However, for specific classes like Classic Thai, Maliwan’s Dishes of the Day, Mystique Thai, etc. there are different timings being followed. Each class’s time duration is 1 hour, and one can customize their timing based on their individual needs. Since all the classes have time restrictions, no classes will be extended beyond the ending time at any cost. The students are advised to reach the destination at least 10 minutes before the starting time as it may help them to relax for a few minutes.
Yes. Children who come under the age group of 6 – 12 years old are allowed to accompany their parents in the cooking class. Considering parental care for running kids and before adolescence, the management has arranged kids to join their parents as mere spectators. But, they can also help by taking them vegetables and fruits. Thus, based on your personal experience with the kid, you can choose whether or not to bring your kid (below 12 years). For children aged over 12 years old and their height is over 5 feet 1 inches (155 cm) are allowed to get their own cooking station and pay as per the adult fare.
By Boat – One can take the Chao Phraya Boat and arrive at the Phra Arthit Pier. And then, you can use a tuk-tuk and ride to Kraisi Road. On the road, search for a Chinese Temple, 70 meters walking distance to a small valley and turn right at the junction. There, you can see a 4 stories-building painted in dark greyish brown. By Taxi – Ask the driver to stop at the Kraisi Road in Banglumphu area. And look out for the Chinese temple and reach the destination. By Skytrain (BTS) or Underground (MRT) – You can go to Sky train up to Ratchathewi bus station Exit 1 and get a taxi to the cooking class directly. Similarly, you can also take the MRT to Hua Lamphong MRT Station and use Exit 2 then, hire a taxi and reach the class.
No. There is no need to have any basic cooking knowledge to get your hands into this Thai cooking class. Since there are classes conducted specially for children, it also applies for beginners who have no previous experience or knowledge in cooking. The classes will help you to turn into a Thai home chef without making your blank dirt. Here, all the instructors are well-experienced, so they know how to impart you the basics without any mistake. Moreover, one can enjoy learning with others the way you enjoy learning with your friends. If you think you’re the odd man out, then no worries. In the Maliwan Thai Cooking Class, students bring nothing with them while coming to the class. The staffs itself provide the equipment, groceries, and other needed ingredients that are must-have in Thai-based cooking. But, here you can acquire basic insight of certain ingredients, followed by those medicinal benefits, and how it can be used in cooking to give more taste and aroma. However, if the chef agrees to bring any specific ingredient, you can bring it and ask them how to use it in your food.
There is a regular menu given to the students based on a daily schedule. It can be changed without prior notice as well. • Monday and Saturday: There are five variety of dishes cooked. • Tuesday and Thursday: There are nearly seven variety of dishes prepared. • Wednesday and Friday: There are seven different kind of dishes cooked. • Sunday: There are six variety of dishes cooked. Some of the best Thai cuisines are Stir Fried Pork with Thai Roasted Chilli Paste, Fried Rice Noodle with Prawns (Pad Thai), and Stir Fried Chicken with Holy Basil Leaf.
There is a maximum of 8 people per class. This allows us to provide individual attention to each student, and guide them as and when required. Since most of the students are from different countries, the instructors ask them to introduce themselves and any interesting story about them. This eventually breaks the ice and gives them a comfort zone. Thus, it not only helps them to learn better from the instructors but also create a good bonding with them.
