Overview

Kiwi Park Queenstown is a 5-acre wildlife sanctuary situated in the heart of central Queenstown. With lush greenery all around, it is home to more than 20 species of New Zealand reptiles and birds. With your admission ticket, enjoy kiwi viewing experience, immersive conservation shows and various wildlife enclosures, amongst other experiences. 

Operational Hours: Monday to Sunday | 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM (Last entry at 5:00 PM) || Hours may vary slightly during winter months.

Winter Public Kiwi Encounter Timings (May-September): 10AM, 11AM, 12:15PM, 1PM, 2PM, 3:45PM & 4:30PM

Summer Public Kiwi Encounter Timings (October-April): 10AM, 11AM, 12:15PM, 1PM, 2:15PM, 3PM, 4:15PM & 5PM

Winter Conservation Show (May to September): 11:30AM & 3PM

Summer Conservation Show (October-April): 11:30AM, 1:30PM, 3:30PM & 5:30PM [starting 1st Nov]

About the Activity:

  • Enjoy a 30-minute wildlife conservation show organized by the park staff. You’ll be learning about various native species like tuatara (ancient reptile only found in New Zealand) and an array of birds.
  • Stroll through the interactive Kiwi Houses, where you can witness this nocturnal national bird even during the day. 
  • Explore the natural trails full of lush greenery and witness more than 20 native species of New Zealand, including birds, reptiles, and freshwater wildlife, as you enjoy the cool and serene atmosphere of the place.
  • Don’t miss learning about park’s breeding efforts and conservation efforts, which the Kiwi Park organizes across the country.

Know Before You Go

  • Guests must enquire about Wildlife Conservation Show timing as soon as they reach the Kiwi Park.
  • Kindly maintain low volume adjust your eyes slowly so you can view the kiwis in the noctural zone.
  • Guests can click photographs in most parts of the park. However, flash photography is strictly prohibited in the kiwi houses.
  • Kindly note that meals or drinks are strictly prohibited inside the wildlife enclosure areas in Kiwi Park.
  • Make sure that infants and children must be added to the total headcount of the guests when booking tickets.
