How to Reach:

To reach Siliguri, if traveling by air, Bagdogra Airport is the nearest and most well-connected to major Indian cities. For a train journey, New Jalpaiguri Railway Station serves as a major hub. If coming by road, Siliguri is accessible via well-maintained highways from nearby cities.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival at Siliguri & Transfer to Phuentsholing | Welcome to Land of the Thunder Dragon

Reach Siliguri Airport/Railway Station from where our local representative will help you with the transfer to Phuentsholing. On reaching complete the immigration process. After that, the driver will drop you off at the pre-booked hotel in Phuentsholing. Check in to the hotel and take some rest and the rest of the day is at your leisure and you’ll be free to explore the beautiful Local Markets of Phuentsholing. Dinner & Overnight stay at the hotel in Phuentsholing.

Transfer in Innova, Wagon R
  • Our representative will pick you up from the Siliguri Airport/Railway station and will help you with the transfer to Phuentsholing.
  • After completing the immigration process the driver will drop you off at the pre-booked hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2
Phuentsholing to Thimphu Transfer | Capital City of Bhutan

Start your day with a healthy breakfast at the hotel. Post-breakfast the driver will help you with your transfer to Thimphu. Upon reaching, head directly to the hotel & complete the check-in formalities. The rest of the day at leisure you’ll be free to explore the nearby local market of Thimphu. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Thimphu.

  • After breakfast the driver will pick you up from the hotel in Phuentsholing and help you with the transfer to your pre-booked hotel in Thimphu.
Day 3
Thimphu Local Sightseeing | Explore Cultural Diversity

Wake up this morning and enjoy a delicious breakfast. After breakfast driver will pick you up from the hotel for the local sightseeing which includes, National Memorial, Buddha Statue, and Motithang Takin Preserve. Next visit Tashichho Dzong, Simtokha Dzong the oldest Dzong of Bhutan, and Handicrafts Emporium followed by shopping for souvenirs at the local markets in Thimphu. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

  • After breakfast driver will pick you up for the city tour.
  • Post city tour the driver will drop you back at the hotel for the overnight stay.
Activity: Local Sightseeing
  • You’ll proceed to visit the National Memorial Chorten that was built in the honour of late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.
  • Also visit the largest Buddha Statue that overlooks the beautiful Thimphu Valley and the Motithang Takin Preserve, the humble abode of Takin, the national animal of Bhutan.
  • Other highlights include a visit to the Tashichho Dzong, the seat of the national government, and the Central Monastic Body, including the summer residence of the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot of Bhutan).
  • Later drive to Simtokha Dzong the oldest Dzong of Bhutan built by Zhabdrung in 1627 and finally visit the Handicrafts Emporium followed by shopping for souvenirs at the local markets in Thimphu.
Day 4
Transfer to Punakha | The Juncture of the two Beautiful Rivers

Wake up this morning and enjoy a delicious breakfast. After check-out driver will pick you up from the hotel for the transfer to Punakha. On the way take a stopover at Dochula Pass, and visit Chimi Lhakhang also known as “the Temple of Fertility”, and Punakha Dzong situated between Pho Chu (Male River) and Mo Chu (Female River). Then driver will drop you at the pre-booked hotel in Punakha, and complete the check-in formalities. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel.

  • After breakfast driver will pick you up from the hotel in Thimphu and en-route to Punakha you will take various stopovers for sightseeing.
  • Post sightseeing the driver will drop you off at the hotel in Punakha for an overnight stay.
Activity: Local Sightseeing
  • If the weather is clear, we stop for a while at Dochula Pass to view the Higher Himalayas.
  • On the way, visit Chimi Lhakhang, also known as “the Temple of Fertility”, and built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley who subdued the demons with his “Magical Thunderbolt”.
  • Visit Punakha Dzong situated between Pho Chu (Male River) and Mo Chu (Female River) which for many years until the time of the second king, served as the seat of the Government.
Day 5
Transfer to Gangtey | Explore the natural wonders of Bhutan

Start your day with a healthy breakfast, then the driver will pick you up from the hotel for the transfer to Gangtey. On the way take a stopover at Wangdiphodrang Dzong. Upon reaching Gangtey complete the check-in formalities and take some rest. After that, the driver will pick you up for local sightseeing which includes Gangtey Gompa Monastery and Phobjikha Valley. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtey.

  • The driver will pick you up from the hotel for the transfer to Gangtey.
  • After the check-in the driver will take you for a local sightseeing tour.
  • Post-tour the driver will take you back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Activity: Gangtey Sightseeing
  • Stopover for sightseeing in the valley of Wangdiphodrang.
  • Here you can visit Wangdiphodrang Dzong, situated at the confluence of the Mo Chu and Tang Chu rivers.
  • Then visit Gangtey Gompa Monastery from outside which is a Nyingmapa monastery that still incorporates old order of local religious practices.
  • You’ll then explore Phobjikha Valley, famous for the Black-necked Cranes during winter.
Day 6
Transfer to Paro | Paro Sightseeing

The day begins with the morning breakfast. Post breakfast, the driver will pick you up for transfer to Paro. On reaching, check in to the hotel and take some rest. You'll then, visit Drukgyel Dzong a fortress and Buddhist monastery, next explore Kichu Lhakhang, built in 659 A.D by the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo Namgyal. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

  • The driver will pick you up from the hotel in Thimphu and will take you to Paro.
  • After completing the check-in formalities the driver will pick you up from the hotel for the sightseeing.
  • After sightseeing the driver will drop you at the hotel for an overnight stay.
Activity: Paro Sightseeing
  • Firstly you will visit the ruins of the Drukgyel Dzong a fortress and Buddhist monastery, now in ruins, located in the upper part of the Paro. Built by, Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, father and unifier of medieval Bhutan, the dzong was destroyed by accidental fire and left in ruins as an evocative reminder of the great victories it was built to commemorate.
  • Spend some time exploring the ramparts and on a clear day, experience an unforgettable view of Mt. Jhomolhari.
  • On the way back, visit Kichu Lhakhang, built in 659 A.D by the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo.
Day 7
Excursion to Taktsang | A Beautiful Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest)

Start your day with a healthy breakfast and then proceed for an excursion to Taktsang Monastery. Reach the base of the trail to Tiger's Nest from where a 6.5 km hike will take you to the monastery. The trail climbs through a beautiful pine forest and an occasional grove of fluttering prayer flags to reach Taktsang. Take a break at Taktsang Cafeteria located mid-way and then climb 700 steps at the last leg of the hike. Later, return back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

  • The driver will pick you up from the hotel for the excursion to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest).
  • Post excursion the driver will take you back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Activity: Hike to Taktsang
  • The trail climbs through a beautiful pine forest and an occasional grove of fluttering prayer flags to reach Taktsang Monastery.
  • The Monastery was built around Guru Rinpoche's meditation cave & clings to the edge of a rock cliff that plunges 900 meters into the valley below.
  • You can then visit Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower, which now houses the National Museum below which is the Paro Rinpung Dzong (literally meaning “Heap of Jewels”).
  • Proceed for a short walk to the base of the dzong and across a traditional cantilevered, covered bridge.
Day 8
Transfer to Phuentsholing | Border Town of Bhutan

Enjoy the morning with a delicious breakfast. Check out from the hotel and the driver will help you with the transfer to the Phuentsholing. After completing the check-in formalities rest for some time and the rest day is at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Phuentsholing.

Day 9
Departure from Phuentsholing | Wave Goodbye to the Land of Thunder Dragon

Wake up this morning and enjoy a delicious breakfast. After breakfast driver will pick you up from the hotel for the transfer back to Siliguri Airport/Railway Station with a huge smile.
