This tour originates from the pink city Jaipur and takes the visitors to Bharatpur, one of the invincible cities of ancient India and the capital of the Jat Kingdom. The tour mainly revolves around the Deeg Palace, which is known for its strong and elegant architectural layouts. Artificially built canals behind the huge impounding walls of the palace offered resistance to the enemy attacks.
Keoladeo National Park or the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is also one of the major attractions of Bharatpur. This park once served as the favourite hunting ground of the royal families and was later declared as a national park. Several hundreds of exotic and endangered species of birds can be found in this sanctuary; it is one of the most sought after destinations for the birdwatchers.
The tour portrays the royalty and marvels of the mighty Jat rulers and offers the visitors, an opportunity to revisit the history of a bygone era along with having a colourful glimpse of some of the rare and exotic birds.
Deeg Palace Tour
An early morning drive will take you to Bharatpur, one of the fortified cities of Rajasthan. Upon arrival in Bharatpur, you will be checked-in into the hotel; you can relax till lunch is served in the hotel. After having lunch, you will be taken to the opulent Deeg Palace.
Built by Raja Suraj Mal, one of the mighty rulers of the Jat dynasty, this palace was once famous for keeping away intruders. Massive walls and moats of this palace completed the fortification of the palace. Colourful fountains amidst lush and verdant gardens add charm and grace to the palace.
After a gracious evening in the palace, you will be driven back to the hotel. Overnight stay and dinner will be arranged in the hotel.
Keoladeo National Park
After having breakfast in the hotel, the Keoladeo National Park, popularly known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary will be your next destination. The park once served as the duck-hunting spot for the royal families of India, was declared as a national sanctuary in 1971.
The park houses more than 300 species of migratory as well as local birds; some of these species has been declared as rare and endangered species. Considered as a paradise for the birdwatchers and one of the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, this park also has one of the most primitive temples dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Upon arrival at the park, the chirpy dwellers of the sanctuary will welcome you with their exotic colours and sweet melodies. A rickshaw tour will take you to some of the important sites of the sanctuary, offering the most rustic and pristine view. While at the park, you can also spot Deer, Blue Bulls, Mongoose, Monkeys and various species of Lizards and Snakes.
After completing the sanctuary tour, you will be driven back to Jaipur; this astounding trip will reach its conclusion point.
