About the Annapurna Base Camp Trek:

The Annapurna Base Camp is perched on a cloud-piercing height of 13,550 feet in the northern region of Nepal. Starting from Banthanti, Annapurna Base Camp offers a stunning opportunity to relish the breathtaking heights of giant Himalayan ranges. The mountain ranges included in this tour bring you through oak, pine, rhododendron, and lush green rice fields engraved with a diamond-like carpet of snow amidst majestic slopes of misty valleys. Since the Annapurna Base Camp Trek happens around a vast area of Annapurna Conservation Area,. You'll be walking across the Modi River and discovering some of the massive peaks at 7000–8000 m.

How to Reach Pokhara:

  • By Air- To reach the Annapurna Base Camp trek, you can fly from major Indian cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Jaipur, and Varanasi to Kathmandu. From Kathmandu, you can take another flight to Pokhara in Nepal. This air route provides a quicker option to travel to the Pokhara in just 5 to 6 hours.
  • By Road- Regular bus services are available from Kathmandu and Sanauli to Pokhara. You can either opt for a local bus from the New Bus Stand, or a Greenline tourist bus from the Tourist Bus Station in Kathmandu to reach Pokhara.
  • By Train- There is no direct train to Pokhara in Nepal. The nearest railway stations to Pokhara are Jaynagar, New Jalpaiguri, and Gorakhpur. You can take a cab or taxi to cross the borders of India at Panitanki or Sunauli. From there you can take a bus to Pokhara via Kathmandu.

Day 1
Arrive in Pokhara
Trek Distance: 0 KmYour Annapurna Base Camp Trek begins with your arrival in the picturesque city of Pokhara. Known for its stunning lakes and views of the Annapurna mountain range, Pokhara serves as the gateway to many Himalayan treks, including the Annapurna Base Camp.
Activity: Arrive in Pokhara
  • Arrive in Pokhara, Check in at your hotel or guesthouse in Pokhara.
  • Explore the lakeside area of Pokhara, leisurely walk along Phewa Lake, and visit local shops.
  • Have dinner and rest early.
Day 2
Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Ghandruk

Trekking Distance: 11 Km

The second day of your Annapurna Base Camp Trek involves a scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, followed by a trek to the beautiful village of Ghandruk. This initial trekking day introduces you to the diverse landscapes of the Annapurna region.

Activity: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Ghandruk
  • Have breakfast and leave early in the morning for Nayapul, which offers stunning views of the countryside and distant peaks.
  • Arrive at Nayapul and move towards Ghandruk.
  • In between, stop for a tea break and sign formalities in the village of Birethanti.
  • Cross the Modi Khola (river), marking the entrance to the Annapurna Sanctuary.
  • Continue the ascent towards Ghandruk, a traditional Gurung village
  • Arrive in Ghandruk and check in at the tea house. Explore the village.
  • Have dinner and stay overnight at the tea house.

Day 3
Trek from Ghandruk to Sinuwa

Trekking Distance: 7.2 Km

Today's trek takes you through charming villages, lush forests, and scenic landscapes as you ascend further into the Annapurna region. The journey from Ghandruk to Sinuwa is marked by diverse terrain and stunning views

  • Begin your day with breakfast and an early morning departure from Ghandruk.
  • Trek through dense rhododendron and oak forests and pass through the village of Kimche, a picturesque settlement surrounded by terraced fields

  • Reach Chhomrong, a large Gurung village with stone houses. 
  • Descend to the Chhomrong Khola (river) and continue trekking until you reach Sinuwa

Day 4
Trek from Sinuwa to Deurali

Trekking Distance: 14 Km

Your journey continues as you ascend further into the Annapurna Sanctuary. The trek from Sinuwa to Deurali involves navigating through lush forests, charming villages, and gradually entering the alpine zone, bringing you closer to the base camp of the majestic Annapurna.

  • Start your day with a morning breakfast and an ascent from Sinuwa.
  • Trek through enchanting bamboo forests, where dense vegetation creates a unique atmosphere.
  • Keep an eye out for Himalayan wildlife, including the Danphe (Himalayan monal). You may spot other birds and animals along the way.
  • Pass through the villages of Dovan and ascend to Hinku Cave, a notable landmark.
  • Reach Deurali, a strategically located settlement that marks the gateway to the higher altitudes of the Annapurna Sanctuary.
  • Check into a tea house in Deurali for your overnight stay.
Day 5
Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp

Trekking Distance: 7.7 Km

Today is a pivotal day as you make the final ascent to the Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). The trek from Deurali to ABC takes you through awe-inspiring landscapes, and the destination offers unparalleled views of the towering peaks that surround the sanctuary.

  • Begin your day with an early breakfast and a pre-dawn departure from Deurali.
  • Trek towards Machapuchare Base Camp (MBC) and enter the Annapurna Sanctuary
  • Ascend the final section of the trail to reach Annapurna Base Camp.
  • Spend time exploring Annapurna Base Camp. Capture photographs of the stunning landscapes at Annapurna Base Camp.
  • Have lunch at one of the tea houses in Annapurna Base Camp

Day 6
Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo

Trekking Distance: 16.7 km

Descending from the majestic Annapurna Base Camp, today's trek takes you back through the enchanting landscapes of the Annapurna Sanctuary. The trail leads you to Bamboo, providing a change in scenery and a chance to reflect on the achievement of reaching ABC.

  • Begin your day with a morning breakfast and descent from Annapurna Base Camp.
  • Pass through Machapuchare Base Camp (MBC) once again.

  • Stop for lunch in the village of Himalaya, a charming settlement along the trail. 
  • Continue the trek downhill until you reach Bamboo, a village surrounded by bamboo forests.
  • Check into a tea house in Bamboo for your overnight stay.

Day 7
Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Hot Spring

Trekking Distance: 8 Km

Today's trek takes you through lush forests and quaint villages as you descend further into the Annapurna region. The day ends with a relaxing visit to the natural hot springs in Jhinu, providing a soothing experience amid the beautiful landscapes.

  • Begin your day with a morning breakfast and descent from Bamboo
  • Pass through the village of Sinuwa, enjoying the rustic charm and serene ambiance.
  • Descend to Chhomrong, a picturesque Gurung village.

  • Continue the downhill trek towards Jhinu and reach Jhinu, a charming village known for its natural hot springs.

Day 8
Trek from Jhinu Hot Spring to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara
Trekking Distance: 7.4 kmThe final day of your Annapurna Base Camp trek involves a downhill trek from Jhinu to Nayapul, followed by a scenic drive back to the lakeside city of Pokhara. This day allows for reflection on the journey and a smooth transition from the mountain landscapes to the vibrant city atmosphere.

Know Before You Go for Annapurna Base Camp Trek

  • Backpack offloading charges – If you wish to offload your backpack, there will be an additional charge of Rs. 6,725 inclusive of tax. The backpack cannot weigh more than 9 kgs.
  • Transport to and from Pokhara – You will need to reach Pokhara on your own on Day 1 and arrange for your journey back from Pokhara on Day 9.
  • Food during transit – The trek fee does not include meals purchased during the journey from Pokhara to Ghandruk and the return drive from Syauli Bazaar to Pokhara.
  • Use of plug points in tea houses – Most tea houses allow the use electricity charging points at an extra cost – 100-300 NPR, with the cost being towards the higher side as you go farther into the trek.
  • Use of wifi and telephone in tea houses – You can buy wifi at all tea houses. Cost ranges from 200-300 NPR. The quality is not great. Major tea houses also have the facility to make calls.
  • Use of RO treated water – all tea houses provide free filtered drinking water. If you wish to use RO treated water, there is an additional charge of 50 NPR per bottle.
  • Buffer day: In case this is used, you have to pay us Rs. 3,250 per day (INR) + 5% GST for the buffer day. We will collect this only if we use the buffer day. The money will be collected by your trek leader.
  • Tip: Porters in Nepal expect to be tipped. The tip amount for people who offload their bags will be INR 1,000 per person. If you do not offload your bags, the tip amount will be INR 700 per person.
  • Suitcases/strolleys/duffel bags will not be allowed. Please note that last minute offloading will not be possible on this trek.
  • Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the plains; take adequate time to get acclimatized to high altitudes.
  • Pay heed to the tour leaders or instructors in order to enjoy a safe and sound experience.
  • Avoid treking during the nights.
  • Carry basic medications and a first-aid kit during the tour.
  • Budget at least Rs. 250 per person per day on bottled water.
  • The tour takes place through eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites.
  • While visiting the temples, do obey proper dress-code and do not hurt the local sentiments of the places.
  • Rescheduling Policy for Private (Standard & Deluxe Package) & Group Bookings: 1) If rescheduling is made 7 days after the Booking Date till 15 days prior to the Date of Travel then 30.0% of the total tour cost will be charged as rescheduling fees. | 2) If rescheduling is made 0 days to 15 days before the Date of Travel then 100.0% of the total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees. | 3) If bookings are made 15 days before the Date of Travel no rescheduling & modifications will be made.
  • Rescheduling Policy for Private (Super Deluxe) & Hotel Specific Bookings: No modification or Rescheduling will be catered. A standard cancellation policy will be applicable for such cases.

  • Cancellation After Rescheduling: Clients who reschedule their tours or treks but later decide to cancel will be subject to our standard cancellation policy. Any rescheduling fees paid will be non-refundable.
