San Diego Zoo Overview
This 100 acres zoo was opened in 1916 and has about 12000 animals within its territory at present. Here, you can find over 650 species and subspecies of animals. The concept of recreating natural habitats for the animals with the help of open-air, cageless exhibits was pioneered by the San Diego Zoo, making it one of the best places to visit in San Diego.

You can explore the various exhibits in the zoo namely Monkey Trails and Forest Tales, Scripps Aviary, Polar Bear Plunge, the Discovery Outpost, Ituri Forest, Elephant Odyssey, Gorilla Tropics, Sun Bear Forest, Bonobos, the Tiger Trail, Clouded Leopard, etc.
