This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a religious structure belonging to the Sinto faith. This shrine is made on stilts and is located alongside the sandy shores of the Mt. Misen. This shrine is just a part of 17 other buildings located in its premises and is known for the iconic floating torii gate. The shrine here is dedicated to Sanjoshin, the 3 daughters of Susanoo-no-Mikoto, the deity of storms and seas.
This park takes pride in being one of the most visited maple leaf valleys in Hiroshima and Japan. The park attracts tourists throughout the year, especially in autumn when the leaves turn brown. The park is located at the foothills of My Misen and is the starting point of a hiking trail. The park is also close to the entrance of the ropeway and 20 minutes away from the Miyajima pier. When in the park, make sure you check out the deer in the park.
The ropeway is one of the most prominent attractions located in the hilly terrain of Miyajima. Tourists take the ropeway to get the best views of the Seto Inland sea and the neighbouring islands. The ropeway has a stop at the Kayadani station where you can take another ropeway to reach Shishi-iaw station. You will have to book your tickets well in advance to travel in the ropeway, so be prepared accordingly.
