About Monument Ali and Nino

The Monument of Ali and Nino in Batumi, Georgia, is a captivating moving sculpture that tells a timeless story of love and cultural differences. Designed by Georgian artist Tamara Kvesitadze, the monument stands at 8 meters tall and represents the love story from Kurban Said's famous novel Ali and Nino.

The tale is about a Muslim Azerbaijani boy, Ali, and a Christian Georgian girl, Nino, whose love is tested by the political and cultural turmoil in the early 20th century. The monument captures their story in a mesmerizing way. The two steel figures slowly move toward each other, symbolizing their emotional connection, before merging briefly and then parting again, representing the separation caused by fate.

Located on Batumi's seafront, the monument has become a popular attraction, symbolizing the power of love beyond cultural and religious barriers. It adds a unique artistic and emotional touch to the city's skyline.
