The cave is a natural tunnel which was formed a million years ago due to the pressure of tides over the years. You can witness the evidence of underwater life that existed a million years ago on the rock surface such as the remains of oyster and snail shells. This indicates that Luon Cave used to be an underwater cave before the sea level decreased.

Luon Cave is situated in a scenic location which attracts tourists from all over the world. You can explore the cave and the rest of the Halong Bay either by boating, kayaking or cruising.
