The museum is located in the harbor side of the ship row district and was built inside an old house that belonged to the 16th century. The Abadi maritime museum is among the most popular places to visit in Aberdeen and includes amazing collections of models, photos and paintings that document the development of this city as an important port. The museum also provides a space to represent the life of the fish folk, not see traders and wheel hunters of the city in the past centuries. The museum has also put on display the renowned Aberdeen clippers that were used by American ship owners to secure trade in the China Sea. It is also one of the only museums in the entire United Kingdom to provide a knowledgeable exhibition on the North Sea petroleum industry.
