A group tour to Sikkim had been on Shubhank and Seema's mind for a long time now, and as the winter months rolled closer, they knew it was time to go for it.

Shubhank might've been a little apprehensive at first, but his excitement to cover Sikkim with a group overrode all negative feelings. So making the call to Thrillophilia for the initial trip details came easily to Shubhank, especially because this particular travel partner came recommended multiple times by his friends.

From the first phone call with Yakub at Thrillophilia, he made sure Shubhank understood the logistics of his requests and what parameters to figure out before the trip planning even started. After a trip framework clarifying how a Sikkim group tour functions, Shubhank was then connected with the destination experts for a deep-dive curation of his itinerary with complete PAP guidance.

This comprehensive detailing and consideration acted as the first relieving factor for Shubhank, making him realise maybe a trip planning partner was just what he needed for the both of them.

After intensive planning and finally going on the trip in January, Shubhank and Seema's Sikkim tour review on reviews.io was short, and yet, it said it all.

"Was an amazing week spent in Gangtok, Pelling and Darjeeling, food was great, overall enjoyed it a lot and got a good group to travel with."

Sometimes, a short review acts as an anchor of assurance. An acknowledgement of how nothing went wrong or the absence of any issues that could've affected the trip experience. This was exactly what Shubhank's review reflected.

Gangtok and Some New Faces Meeting Each Other

Moments of peace under the blessings of Lord Shiva

When Shubhank and Seema landed at Bagdogra, their vehicle was already waiting for them, ready to take them to their hotel.

By the time evening rolled in, they had comfortably checked into their hotel, selected intentionally for its proximity to MG Marg to avoid any possible delays during early morning departures.

Day two marked the beginning of the actual sightseeing and set the tone for the entire group. Travellers used to the plains are never ready for the visually striking scene that a partly frozen Tsomgo Lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains offers. Having witnessed the mountainscapes, the group was then brought to Baba Mandir, transitioning the group energy towards a spiritual core.

When the evening rolled in, Shubhank realised all his apprehension of travelling with a group was over, and there was an instant bond already.

The Drive to Pelling and a Karaoke Session

Day three was the transfer to Pelling. Shubhank, Seema, and the group started out early, with their shared transfer already at their hotel and ready to go. For a group, having a driver who's skilful in navigating the tourist circuit becomes extremely important to make up for any delays or en-route traffic.

With the travellers already having warmed up to one another, this transfer was full of singing, snacks getting passed around, and a long stop at the Buddha Park in Ravangla, where nobody was in a hurry to leave.

Day four was dedicated to Pelling sightseeing. Setting out early after a warm breakfast amidst the cold weather, their first stop was the Khecheopalri Lake, followed by Rimbi and Kanchenjunga waterfalls. The highlight of the day was the Pemayangtse Monastery, a 17th-century structure surrounded by snow-capped mountainscapes.

The views alone, surrounded by people with whom Shubhank had genuinely bonded over these few days and whose vibe matched so perfectly with his, made waking up early feel truly worth it.

The 4:30 am Pick-up in Darjeeling

City lights, mountain air, and evenings full of charm in Darjeeling

Day five was mostly spent in travelling to Darjeeling. The journey began with a comfortable standard Innova, which took them across into West Bengal. Reaching their hotel in Darjeeling by afternoon, the rest of the day was spent in leisure, which Shubhank used as an opportunity for a quick food walk.

Although the 4:30 am pickup on day six seemed too early to Shubhank, after arriving at Tiger Hill, he understood the precise reason for it. The view of Kanchenjunga catching first light at sunrise did exactly that. The peak turns orange first before transitioning into gold, followed by white. The valley below stays in shadow for a few more minutes, highlighting Kanchenjunga for the golden mountain it is.

The rest of the day was spent at Batasia Loop, Ghoom Monastery, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the Padmaja Naidu Zoo, Tenzing Rock, the Tibetan Refugee Centre and the Peace Pagoda. Although on paper it seems like a lot of destinations, the group's early start and the driver's efficiency never made it feel rushed for Shubhank's group.

Thrillophilia's Contribution in Making Shubhank's Trip a Memorable One

Shubhank's Sikkim group tour review with Thrillophilia on Trustpilot

"Had a great memory, the whole team in Thrillophilia helped us a lot."

Shubhank's Sikkim trip review on Trustpilot was short. But that meant everything to the entire team. It meant the months of planning, itinerary fine-tuning, availability checks, on-ground team coordination, and double-checked verifications for route and weather insights had not been in vain.

As a team who worked relentlessly together to ensure ground-level coordination and fine-tuned itinerary curation, completed with backup plans and in-built buffer time for anything that might go wrong or cause delays, Shubhank's short review was perfect for us.
