When a family books a second trip with the same company, it says something that no five-star review can quite match. Sneha Iyengar and her family had already travelled through Rajasthan with Thrillophilia before they came back for eight days through Assam and Meghalaya with two kids in tow.

Sneha's Meghalaya review on Reddit opened with, "This is our second trip with Thrillophilia and our experience was as good as the 1st one to Rajasthan."

Sneha Reddit review

For a family of four with different needs, different energy levels, and a fairly ambitious itinerary, that kind of consistency across two trips is not something that happens by accident.

Kaziranga Set the Tone Before Meghalaya Even Began

A quiet stroll through Meghalaya's scenic tea gardens

The trip started not in Meghalaya but in Assam, with the family arriving in Guwahati and heading straight to Kaziranga.

The early morning jeep safari through Kaziranga National Park delivered exactly that. The one-horned rhino, grasslands stretching out in every direction, and the particular kind of quiet that comes with being in a national park at first light. An elephant appeared in the thick green grass at close range at some point during the drive, unhurried and completely unbothered. It's the kind of wildlife moment that no zoo or nature documentary prepares you for and that a child carries around for years.

From Kaziranga they made their way to Shillong, the city sitting at the centre of the trip geographically and logistically.

Cherrapunji Had Its Waterfalls Running Full

Cherrapunji Overflowed With Natural Beauty

The third day brought them to Cherrapunji, and the timing turned out to matter more than they might have anticipated. Visiting in the last week of April meant the waterfalls were running at their peak. Sneha made a specific note of this in her review, and it's easy to understand why.

NohKaLikai Falls, the tallest waterfall in India, hits differently when it's running at full volume. The drop, the mist, the sound that reaches you well before you can see the water clearly — these are things that only show up when there's enough rain behind them. Seven Sisters Waterfall and Elephant Falls added to the day, and the limestone caves at Mawsmai and Arwah brought the afternoon into a completely different register.

The Root Bridges Were Worth Every Step

Every Step Led To Meghalaya's Living Wonder

Day four was built around the Double Decker Living Root Bridge, and it asked something of everyone. The trek down to Nongriat village from Tyrna involves a long descent through dense forest, Khasi village paths, and rubber tree roots that have been trained over generations to grow into bridges sturdy enough to walk across.

It is a lot for an eight-year-old. It is also the kind of thing an eight-year-old tells people about for years. The family made it down, saw both bridges, and trekked back out. The single-decker root bridge at Riwai village came the following day, on the road through Mawlynnong, which holds the distinction of being called the cleanest village in Asia. The balancing rock nearby added a natural curiosity to the stop that felt like a bonus.

What stood out to the family amidst transferring between multiple destinations was how smooth and untiring the journey felt despite its long distances.

In Sneha's Meghalaya review on Reddit, she said, "Special mention about our driver, Rajkumar, after knowing that we are vegetarians he took us to some awesome restaurants through the journey. Also suggested an amazing cultural experience which we loved. Excellent driving!"

That kind of attention, the kind that reads what a family needs without waiting to be told, is what separates a good trip from one people talk about afterwards.

Krang Shuri and the Brahmaputra to Close It Out

The sixth day brought the emerald green water of Krang Shuri Falls. Sneha described the water as visibly clear all the way down. That kind of clarity, the kind where you can see the riverbed through moving water, is something Meghalaya offers in ways few places in India can match, but it requires the right conditions and the right timing. April delivered both.

Laitlum Canyon rounded off the day's sightseeing with wide views across the hills before they made their way back to Shillong and then on to Guwahati. The Brahmaputra cruise on the final evening was a quiet, unhurried way to close eight days of fairly active travel, sitting on the river as the city settled into the evening behind them.

How Thrillophilia Keeps Bringing Them Back

Sneha's review ended with a list of reasons she trusts Thrillophilia, written with the clarity of someone who has now seen the same standards hold across two very different trips. They understand your requirements. They help with customised itineraries. The ground support team is present throughout. Any issue gets resolved quickly. Akshat Jain from the sales team had put the Meghalaya trip together in a way that accounted for a family with young children without making the itinerary feel restricted.

Sneha closed her Meghalaya review on Reddit with, "We would definitely like to plan our next holiday with Thrillophilia."

By the time they reached Guwahati Airport on the final morning, all four of them were already thinking about the next one. That, more than any rating or review, is what eight days through Meghalaya with the right team behind you can do to a family.
