A Maldives trip had been on Suravi’s mind for her honeymoon for quite some time now. The city’s heat, constant buzz, and the daily monotonous routine had started to feel too heavy on her shoulders, and she knew she could not keep pushing off the trip. By the second day, Suravi and Nasir were ready to experience the side of the Maldives they had seen only in photographs. They spent the morning exploring the vibrant underwater world, snorkelling above colourful coral reefs and spotting schools of tropical fish in the crystal-clear lagoon. For a closer look, they also had the option of scuba diving, discovering just how rich the marine life around the island truly is.

From a Beach Villa to an Overwater Stay 

The third day marked a memorable transition as Suravi and Nasir checked out of their beach villa and moved into a duplex overwater villa with a private pool. Waking up surrounded by uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean was an experience they had always associated with the Maldives, and finally getting to live it made the trip feel even more special.

Later in the day, they chose to venture beyond the resort on a shark excursion. Accompanied by experienced guides, they headed into the open waters to observe reef sharks in their natural habitat. It was an exhilarating experience that pushed them out of their comfort zones while also giving them a deeper appreciation for the Maldives' thriving marine ecosystem.

After an adventurous afternoon, they slowed things down with dinner at Iru Restaurant, where a wide selection of international dishes rounded off the day. Relaxing back at their overwater villa that evening, Suravi couldn't help but feel that the holiday had struck exactly the balance she had been hoping for, with moments of adventure, relaxation, and thoughtful planning coming together seamlessly.

As Suravi and Nasir boarded their speedboat back to Velana International Airport, they found themselves looking at the islands with a quiet sense of fulfilment. Four days had gone by quickly, yet they had managed to experience everything they had hoped for without ever feeling rushed.
