Although you can never repay your parents for their contribution and selflessness, a trip comes pretty close to it. A mother-daughter trip is something that feels comforting and cute. When you travel with your mother, that trip stays with you and her for a lifetime, and this is the story of Shromona and her mother, who took a 6-day trip to Kerala.
More than sightseeing, Shromona’s priority was ensuring that her mother could travel comfortably without being exhausted by uncomfortable transfers, confusing logistics, or constantly shifting plans. She wanted every transfer, hotel, and sightseeing stop to feel easy, allowing them to simply enjoy their time together.
These concerns were the very first things she shared with Anshika Agarwal, her Thrillophilia destination expert. Rather than offering a standard itinerary, Anshika carefully tailored the trip around their requirements, selecting a comfortable route, pacing each day thoughtfully, and ensuring every logistical detail suited her elderly mother’s needs.
It was Shromona's first trip with Thrillophilia, but seeing the attention given to these practical details quickly reassured her that both she and her mother would be well looked after.
Kerala's Misty Highlands Welcomed Them in the Most Beautiful Way

After landing in Kochi, Shromona found their private vehicle already waiting to take them to Munnar with en route sightseeing which wasn’t physically demanding, yet eased them into Munnar’s flow.
Travelling through the lush Western Ghats, they paused at the historic Neriamangalam Bridge, where the Periyar River winds through dense forests, before stopping at the cascading Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls, covering two of the region's most photographed natural landmarks.
The carefully spaced sightseeing stops broke up the drive into comfortable segments, a thoughtful detail that made the journey especially suitable for Gita.
The following day was equally comfortable as they explored Munnar's celebrated landscapes. Their private sightseeing tour covered attractions such as Mattupetty Dam, known for its calm reservoir surrounded by hills, and the expansive Yellapetty Grasslands, where uninterrupted views of Munnar's tea estates stretched into the distance. Gita especially took a liking to their driver’s politeness, who not only was punctual but also let them take their own time exploring each site without making them feel rushed or overwhelmed.
Then Came Backwaters, Clifftops & Kerala's Culture

Leaving Munnar behind, Shromona and Gita travelled towards Alleppey, watching Kerala’s landscape gradually transform from rolling tea plantations to tranquil canals lined with coconut palms. Upon their arrival, they checked into their deluxe houseboat, where the pace of the journey slowed even further.
Drifting through Alleppey’s famous backwaters, surrounded by village life, paddy fields, and interconnected waterways, offered a side of Kerala that was unexpected. She was especially pleased because the team provided her with the houseboat’s quality assurance documents early on before departure, which verified the property’s legitimate registration. For Gita, on the other hand, this peaceful houseboat stay with consistent check-ins from Anshika became one of the most relaxing, hassle-free parts of the whole journey.
The following morning, they continued south to Varkala, with another thoughtfully planned route that balanced travel with sightseeing. A visit to the impressive Jatayu Earth Centre introduced them to one of Kerala's most distinctive attractions, combining mythology, monumental sculpture, and panoramic views from the hilltop. Later, exploring Varkala's dramatic cliffside coastline offered a completely different atmosphere from Alleppey's backwaters, with sweeping views of the Arabian Sea, lively cafés, and the unique red laterite cliffs that make the destination one of Kerala's most recognisable beach towns. They ended the day at Clafouti Beach Resort, where the coastal setting provided a restful overnight stay before the final leg of their journey.
Their journey then continued to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala's historic capital, where sightseeing revealed another dimension of the state through its blend of heritage, temples, and urban culture. Instead of feeling like a rushed city stop, the visit was paced to allow both mother and daughter to comfortably explore before settling into their hotel for the night.
How Thrillophilia supported the Trip
Throughout the 6 days, across multiple destinations and numerous logistics configurations, two things never lost their footing: comfort and support. Anshika had been a constant presence during their trip, with timely check-in calls to understand the needs and preferences of the travellers before it became evident she was the one truly responsible for the ensured comfort that made the trip so enjoyable for Gita.
Shromona highlighted the same in her Kerala review on Thrillophilia’s platform.
“Special thanks to Anshika Agarwal who handled our itinerary with great care and attention. She was responsive, understanding of our needs, and ensured everything was planned perfectly for a comfortable journey for my mother."
In addition, all the on-trip personnel were chosen for their expertise in navigating trips with elderly travellers, from the drivers to the guides, which guaranteed that nothing was left to chance. Every detail was intentional, aimed at assuring the comfort level stays consistent for all 6 days.
What resulted was a trip that signified a daughter’s gratitude to her mother, the details showing the care and consideration that went behind curating the itinerary, and Shromona was grateful for each day of the trip. Her post-trip review closed with a few simple words, but those meant everything for the team behind it all.
“The whole trip was comfortable, well-paced, and perfect for travel with family. Great experience overall!”
