From the pleasantly hospitable town of Manali, the Manali to Leh Jeep expedition takes you on a roller coaster drive through distinct geographies portraying diverse geographies. From hill town to high altitude arid desert, this safari is one mega experience.
The Manali to Leh by road traverses over five high altitude Himalayan passes such as Rohtang (3,978m), Keylong (3,350m), and Tanglang La (17,585ft) showcasing an ever changing dynamic landscape that alters from barren lands to lush green pastures. A drive through Skyangchu Thang, the biggest and highest plateau on earth on a stretch of 42kms leaves you breathless. For you to capture moments like these, the safari also includes a brief photography workshop to help arrest high altitude frames with more panache.
By the end of the journey multi-hued prayer flags, Tibetian chortens, and friendly locals would be etched in your memories for a very long time to come.
Exploring Manali, Short trek, Hidmba Temple, Monasteries
The pleasant and hospitable hill town of Manali plays host today. After hotel check-in, you’ve the day for local sightseeing and getting acclamatised to high altitude climate. Take a short trek to the famous Hidimba Temple. Also you’ll visit a few monasteries around the town. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Rohtang Pass, Photography Workshop
It’s the official start of the Manali to Leh Jeep Expedition. The first leg begins from Manali taking you on a high altitude journey traveling through Rohtang Pass, Keylong, and a few other passes to arrive at Jispa, which is the ideal destination for an overnight halt before proceeding to higher altitudes. Stay over for the night.
High Altitude Passes Drive, Skyangchu Thang, Indus Valley
As always, the day begins with a scrumptious breakfast and a quick round of warm up exercises. Board the vehicle and chart the path for Day2. Meander through Baralacha La, Nakeela, and Lachang La Pass (16,617ft) before breaking for lunch at Pang. Continue the drive to Leh passing through Skyangchu Thang (the biggest and highest plateau on Earth on a stretch of 42kms). The Himalayan passes stay with you as you scale Tanglang La Pass (17,585ft) and follow the Indus Valley. Check into a family run Guest house at Leh for the night.
Sightseeing, Acclimatisation
There’s just so much to see in Leh. This rest day is carefully planned to acclamatise you with high altitude weather conditions and also for local sight seeing. Explore the local bylanes, chat up with friendly locals, enjoy a sumotuous dinner at a famous restaurant and retire for the day.
Khardungla Pass, Valley of Flowers, Ladakh Ranges of Himalayas
After an early breakfast, begin driving in the direction of Nubra Valley through the Khardung La Pass. You are now on the high motorable road at 18,390ft. As you soak in your feat, arrive at Nubra Valley or popularly known as the Valley of Flowers. You’ve ample time to experience the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. Explore this beautiful valley, the villages, and monasteries surrounding it. The add-on excitement of this day is an overnight home stay with a local Ladakhi family. Retire for the night.
Camel Safari, Leh Sightseeing
A wholesome Ladakhi breakfast along with the famous Ladakhi Butter tea sets the tone for the day. Today we visit the Diskit monastery in  the Nubra valley. We drive back to Leh and in the eveining you can either rest or take a walk to the local market and Shanti Stupa. Retire for the night in a Guest house.
Changla Pass, Pangong Lake, Indo-China Border
Yet another day for some high altitude driving. After an early breakfast at Kharu, leave for Pangong Lake through Chang La Pass (5,486m). Situated at 14,000ft, the beautiful lake stretches for around 130km, partly flowing into China. The water body with its multi shades of blue is extremely impressive as its placidity plays along genuinely with the enveloping snow capped peaks. Counted as a once in a life time moment, you stay over by the shores of this lake to soak in its brilliance under the bare cover of a night sky. We stay at Wooden cottages beside the lake in picturesque Spangmik village.
Hemis Gompa, Thiksey, Shey Palace, Stok Palace Museum
Drive back to Leh on the penultimate day. Along the way, visit Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of Tibetan Buddhism, the proudly perched Thiksey chorten viewing upon inhabitants from a hill above. Overnight stay in Leh.
End of tour
 The Leh Ladakh trip ends today. Leave to Delhi via flight or Srinagar by Road. We will help you book a cab for the same.
