Love Valley Overview

Located in the heart of Cappadocia is a unique geological wonder, Love Valley, (Turkish Aşıklar Vadisi). The valley is a part of Göreme Historical National Park and is situated just outside the small town, Göreme. The attraction is renowned for its unique phallic-shaped rock formations, formed through 60 million years of natural erosion. The valley is well known for both its spectacular view and for its significant history. 

Starting from Goreme and concluding in the ancient Greek village of Cavusin, the Love Valley is acclaimed as one of the best hiking trails in Cappadocia. The valley is defined by its bundle of distinguishing rock formations, ridges, and a lush wide-open stretch, making it a paradise for photographers.

The valley has multiple panoramic viewpoints, and you can also explore the place by going on a hike, or riding on horseback or ATV rides. Another excellent way of enjoying the vista of the valley is to view it from above on a hot air balloon ride.

How To Reach

1. By Car: Love Valley is located about 5 km from the heart of Goreme and takes 15 minutes to reach via Göreme Yolu by car. You can take a car from Uchisar, which is 5.5 km away and reach in 15 minutes via Göreme-Uçhisar Yolu. 


2. By ATV/Scooters: ATVs and scooters are available in Göreme and you can opt for an ATV tour to cover the valley.

Best Time To Visit

Love Valley is open all day, every day, making it a year-round sightseeing destination.


1. Best season: The best season to visit Love Valley is either in spring, from late March till May, or in Autumn, from late September till November. During both seasons, the valley turns green, and the temperature is comfortable for hiking, sightseeing and indulging in outdoor activities in the area.

2. Best day in the week: The best day in the week to visit the attraction is during the weekdays when the place is less crowded.


3. Best time of the day: The best time of the day is in the early morning during sunrise or late afternoon at sunset, when the valley offers the best vista of this unique landscape. During these hours, the hot air balloons gracefully drifting in the sky enhance the magnificence of the location.

  • Love Valley is an easy hike, so even young children can go along.
  • The complete hike will take around 2 to 3 hours.
  • Viewpoint is easily accessible with a 15-minute walk.
  • There is no entry fee to visit Love Valley.
  • Wear footwear which is suitable for a hike.
  • Cover your head with a cap or hat to avoid the glare of the sun.
  • Put sunglasses on to protect the eyes and sunscreen lotion to protect the skin.
