About Hot Springs Ladakh

The Ladakh Hot Springs are a group of naturally occurring hot springs located in the village of Panamik on the Siachen Glacier. Nestled in the depths of the Siachen Glacier, Panamik is one of the highest villages in the world to be hosting this marvelous phenomenon. The warm water of the springs is said to possess healing properties and the right amount of sulfur that cures aches and skin diseases.

Although the Panamik hot springs were largely unorganized for a long time, the locals at the Panamik village have now undertaken initiatives for better maintenance of these phenomenal springs.

Several bathhouses or segregated areas have been formed for people to take a dip at, some even segregated by gender. There’s a bathhouse just beside the hot springs, where the atrociously hot water is often blended with the cold to make it easier on the skin. The springs also have a running hot tea and coffee service against a nominal charge. The Ladakh hot springs are not only valued for their medicinal properties, but stand out in their astonishing beauty as well, making them a must-visit stop on any well-planned Ladakh trip.
