Asamkirche Overview

The Asamkirche is a church in Munich, southern Germany, designed by the brothers Egidio and Cosmas Asam in 1733–1746. It is considered to be one of the most outstanding examples of Bavarian rococo and one of the best things to see in Munich. The church is on the corner of Sendlinger Strasse and Palaisstrasse, not far from Munich Marienplatz.

Asamkirche is one of Munich's most beautiful and unique churches. It is also one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. Here are some reasons why you should visit Asamkirche, as well as some activities to do while you're there. Asamkirche was built in the early 18th century by the Asam brothers, who were famous Bavarian artists and architects.

The church is an excellent example of Baroque architecture, and its interior is decorated with ornate paintings and sculptures. One of the main reasons to visit Asamkirche is to see its incredible ceiling fresco, which Cosmas Damian Asam painted. The fresco depicts the Ascension of Christ, and it is truly a masterpiece.

In addition to admiring the architecture and artworks, there are also several musical events that take place at Asamkirche throughout the year. These include organ concerts, choral performances, and holiday concerts. If you're lucky enough to be in Munich during one of these events, be sure to catch a performance.
