About Amar Jawan Jyoti

The Amar Jawan Jyoti is a special monument at Jan Path in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It was built to honour the brave soldiers and martyrs who served India, especially during Indo-Pakistan War in 1971. The monument is made of pink sandstone on a black marble base. At the centre, you can see an upturned rifle with a warhead on top. There are four burning torches around it, which symbolise the eternal spirit and bravery of the soldiers. These flames never go out and remind us of the sacrifices made by these courageous soldiers.

In the evening, the monument is lit up in the colours of the Indian flag. There is a gold cenotaph in the monument, with words spoken by the soldiers. On visiting, you can pay your respect and feel a sense of national pride and gratitude towards the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. You can also enjoy a light and sound show here in both English and Hindi languages.
