The Pass is perched at 15250 ft in the surreal Himalayan mountain range of Himachal Pradesh. How To Reach Dhaula:

By Air:

Jolly Grant Airport is a domestic airport which is situated at a distance of 20 km from Dehradun city center. One can find regular daily flights to Delhi. The nearest International airport is situated at a distance of about 235 km from Delhi. From There You Can Hire a Private cab to reach Dhaula

By Train:

Dehradun is connected by regular train services to cities Delhi, Lucknow, Allahabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ujjain, Chennai, and Varanasi. The Dehradun Railway Station is located 1-2 kilometers away from the city center and should take you only ten minutes, depending on traffic. From Dehradun railway station you can hire a private taxi or can take a local state transport bus to reach Dhaula

By Road:

Delhi to Dehradun via Saharanpur Road:

The distance between Delhi and Dehradun is 307 km and can be covered in about 7 hours 45 minutes. The roads are bumpy but the ride is worth it! The breathtaking views will send you in the vacation mood before you reach the destination. from Dehradun ISBT you can hire a private taxi or can take a local state transport bus to reach Dhaula

Rupin Pass Trek Itinerary

Day 1
Dehradun - Mori (1100m) - Dhaula (1800m) (Drive/195 km) (7 -8 Hours)
  • Today, you will assemble at Dehradun Railway Station by 7 AM. 
  • Hop on to a vehicle and drive to Mori. This is a little picturesque hamlet that rests on the banks of the lovely Tons River.
  • Once at Mori, proceed in the vehicle amidst pine woodland by the Tons River to arrive at Netwar.
  • Here, you can pay your respects at Pokhu Devta, an ancient place of worship.
  • It displays the stunning and distinct architecture of the locale.
  • Later on, proceed to Dhaula hamlet. Positioned by Rupin Gad, this is where your trekking activity will begin.
  • Retreat for the night in the tents as tomorrow your Rupin pass trek commences.
Day 2
Dhaula (1800m) - Sewa (2100m) (Trek/3-4 hours)
  • This day, enjoy the trek amidst rhododendron woodlands and fields and captured its mesmerizing beauty.
  • Post some hours of walking, you will arrive at Sewa.
  • After a great day, spend the night in tents.
Day 3
Sewa (2100m) - Jakha (2700m) (Trek/6-7 Hours)
  • This day, brace yourself for an engaging route. As you make your way through some hamlets.
  • Get a fine whiff of their local culture and lives by interacting with them.
  • Enjoy the way amidst mixed forests and initial sights of snowy ridges of the Dhauladhar range.
  • Arrive at Jakha, the final hamlet of the day that is also the highest in the region.
  • Later in the night, retreat to your tents.
Day 4
Jakha (2700m) - Suruwas Thach (3250m) (Trek/5-6 Hours)
  • Today, you will be trekking to the dewy and charming meadows at Suruwas Thach.
  • At first, traverse by the river and then climb amidst a jungle stretch to arrive at Rupin Valley's entrance.
  • At this place, you can enjoy the initial sight of the Rupin waterfall.
  • The salubrious environs make the camp area a delightful one.
  • Spend the night in tents.
Day 5
Suruwas Thach (3250m) - DhanderasThach (5 Km, 4 Hours)
  • Today, you will come across the wallow in the marvels.
  • First, you will ascend a pictorial meadow. At this place go trigger happy and unwind for a bit.
  • Post this, you will engage in a steep trek amidst likely snow stretches till you arrive at the upper waterfall camping area that can be considered the best across the globe.
  • Spend the night in tents.
Day 6
DhanderasThach – Upper Waterfall Camp (3 Hours with 2 Hours of Steep Climb)
  • We will be beginning early this day, expect some challenges as you would have to ascend snowfields as well as a rocky path to arrive at the pass.
  • Based on the situation, you might have to make use of ropes in some of the stretches. Conducive to snow, the ascend might take you around 4-6 hours.
  • Once over here, you can enjoy sweeping views of the mighty Himalayas.
  • Witness summits of Kinner Kailash range and those near Charang La.
  • Unwind for a bit and then begin the descent.
  • Trek for a couple of hours and arrive at Ronti Gad pastures.
  • After a long day, retire for the night in tents.
Day 7
Upper Waterfall – Rupin Pass – Ronti Gad (10 Km, 11 Hours)
  • This day, expect a long and strenuous climb downwards to Sangla.
  • The trail though is a rewarding one with some spectacular views. Accompanying you is the vision of the Kinner Kailash range along with the hamlets of Sangla valley that dot the region.
  • Later on, you will be greeted by the Baspa River that meanders in the valley, when at Sangla, dash off for a piping hot masala tea.
  • After a great day, you will retire for the night in tents.
Day 8
Ronti Gad – Sangla (12 Km, 6 Hours)
  • Dig into breakfast early today and hop on to the vehicle to be transferred to Shimla.
  • Enjoy the lovely drive and arrive at Shimla by afternoon.
  • This Rupin Pass trek package ends here.
