About the Activity

  • Embark on a tour of the beautiful country of Egypt on a 7 day 6 night trip.
  • The tour starts on arrival at Cairo airport where a tour representative will guide you to your hotel.
  • The trip will cover the best of Cairo like the Pyramids of Gaza, Great Sphinx of Giza, Egypt Papyrus Institute and Egyptian Museum. You could also take a tour of Alexandria if you wish to.
  • You will be spending 3 days aboard a cruise as you sail on the Nile from Aswan to Luxor.
  • The tour includes accommodation, transport, meals and a lot of sightseeing and activities.

Itinerary

Day 1
Departure From Cairo
  • Arrive at the Cairo Airport, meet with the travel expert, and get transferred to your hotel.
Day 2
Pyramid Tour
  • After breakfast at the hotel, head out to visit the Pyramids.
  • First, you visit the Great Pyramid of Giza, which is also called the Pyramid of Cheops. This is the oldest and largest of the three Pyramids and was built around 2560 BC.
  • Visit the Pyramids of Chephren and Menkaure.
  • Proceed to see the Great Sphinx of Giza that appears as an emblem of Egypt on several stamps, coins, and currency notes.
  • Visit the Egypt Papyrus Institute and learn how paper was made and used in ancient Egypt.
  • Continue to explore parts of Cairo and visit a perfume factory and a jewellery shop.
  • Return to your hotel or enjoy lunch at an oriental restaurant.
  • You could go on an optional tour of the Egyptian Museum where you can see several treasures of King Tutankhamun.
  • Explore the bazaars of Khan el-Khalili where you can shop for curios and souvenirs.
Day 3
Train Journey to Aswan
  • Spend this day at leisure or book optional excursions to explore Cairo or Alexandria.
  • Board a first-class train from Cairo to Aswan.
  • You will spend the night on the luxury train.
Day 4
Cruise Tour
  • Embark on a three night cruise over the river Nile from Aswan to Luxor.
  • When in Aswan, visit the ancient Egyptian temple complex in the island of Philae and the High Dam of Aswan.
  • As you sail, stopover at the city of Edfu, where you can see one of the best preserved temples from the Ptolemaic period between 237 and 57 BC which was dedicated to the Egyptian falcon god, Horus.
  • Visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, also from the Ptolemaic period, built for the crocodile god, Sobek and the falcon god, Horus.
  • When in Luxor, visit the Valley of the Kings, where several tombs were built for the Pharaohs between the 11th and 16th century BC.
  • Proceed to the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut that was built for the sun god Amon-Ra.
  • Visit the Colossi of Memnon, two 3400 year old statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, on the west bank of the Nile River.
  • This is your itinerary for days 4 to 6.
Day 5
Arrival at Luxor Airport
  • Have breakfast on the cruise boat, check-out, and get transferred to the Luxor Airport to catch your flight back home.
