About the Destinations:
This thrilling Roopkund Lake Trek Expedition takes you to the mysterious skeleton lake of Roopkund. The crater like formation towers at 4800m and is positioned in Chamoli district of Garhwal. Along the way, you will get to unfold the two fascinating sides of Himalayas, one being its exquisiteness and the other its raw wildlife. Enjoy the trail amidst lovely forest areas, go stream crossings and trek through charming green high altitude meadows of Ali Bugyal and Bedni Bugyal.
There is a certain enigma and eeriness that is associated with the Mystery Lake. Human skeletons and bones as well as remains horses were found here. They were recently traced backed to pilgrims who had lost their lives at this place due to unforeseeable hailstorm. Having said that, the scenery is picturesque and the entire experience is an engaging one. The lake is ringed by rock ridden glaciers and snowy summits.

Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Arrival at Lohajung
Today, you will arrive at Haridwar and transfer to Wan. Enjoy the route by Ganga and Alaknanda rivers and later through Pinder Valley. You will also be making your way through Devprayag and Rudraprayag which are holy places steeped in beauty. Adding to the delight are the views of snowy Himalayan mountain summits. Post around 9 hours of drive, you will arrive at your destination and retreat to your tent/guesthouse.
Mixed Forest, Birds, Stream Crossing, Village Culture
This day, lap up your Roopkund trek amidst enthralling mixed forest and get to see many kinds of birds. Along the way, you would be crossing some lucid streams. Make way through some hamlets to get a feel of the region's culture. Reach the campsite and pitch tents for an overnight stay.
Steady Climb, Oak Woodlands, Ali Bhugyal, Trishul and Nanda Ghunti Peaks
Today is going to be a trove for nature enthusiasts. Post a steady climb amidst bountiful oak woodlands, reach Ali Bhugyal, the charming alpine grazing meadow. When here, you can soak in the beauty of the place and unwind for a bit. On a clear day, you can also be able to see peaks of Trishul and Nanda Ghunti. From this place, enjoy a tranquil Roopkund trek to Bedni Bugyal. The unbridled horizons and grazing pastures make this place a delightful one. After a great day, retire for the night in tents.
Kalu Vinayak Shrine, Neelkanth, Chaukhamba and Hathi Peaks
Today, you will be flitted off to what is considered as among the most romantic areas in the Himalayas. Begin ascending the meadow slopes and go trekking to the ridge. Once on top, you can enjoy great sights. Reach the top of one more ridge for Kalu Vinayak shrine. In the stone place of worship is a black Ganesh idol which gives the shrine its name. Usually, people always stop and pray here for a safe Roopkund trek. At this place, you can feast your eyes on the peaks of Neelkanth, Chaukhamba and Hathi peaks.
Based on the season, you will find snow as you proceed. Also, expect a slightly rocky landscape. Towards the end of the activity, you will reach a tapered line that divides two mountain ranges. Trekking over here is rather thrilling. From this place on, you will reach the snowline to Bagubasa. Do note that by the end of it, you might be gasping for breath due to the altitude. With time, you will feel better. After a hard day, retire into the tents for the night.
Moraine, Rock Gardens, Snow Stretches, Human Bones, Skeletons, Jurangali
Brace yourself for some rip-roaring times and the sense of accomplishment. Begin early to reach the lake in around 3 hours. Roopkund is a crater kind of a disposition in the mountains. Ascend through a terrain laden with moraine, rock gardens and snow stretches to arrive at the border of the mystery lake. Several areas of the route are steep and they might be covered with snow. If the snow is less, you will actually get a glimpse of the human bones and skeletons that have made this water body so known.
Relish in the great sights that are visible from here and also unwind for a bit. If you wish, you can climb for around 20 minutes to the ridge of Jurangali. Go trigger happy and head to Bedni Bugyal. As the trek is a lengthy one, adequate breaks will be taken. Reach the camping area and rest for the night in tents.
Flora, Wan Village, Temple Visit
Today, you will go trekking downhill and come across an array of flora till you arrive at the beautiful and fetching village of Wan. Pay a visit to the temple of the village and unwind for some time. From here, you will transfer to Rudraprayag.
Your Roopkund trek ends here
On your last day, you will be driven from Rudraprayag to Haridwar. From here, you proceed to your onward destination.
