Originating from Bagdogra, this amazing trekking tour will take the trekkers to the enchanting valleys and summits in Sikkim and its surrounding regions. Within the seventeen days of the tour, most of the days will be traversed through the rugged and uneven terrains. Even though the trekking routes might offer challenges, thrill and excitement lies in overcoming these challenges and in exploring the picture-perfect ambience and beauty of the regions.
While the misty atmosphere adds to the beauty of this trekking tour, spectacular views of the sunrise along with the majestic Mt Everest and Khangchendzonga adds more grandeur to the tour. Gangtok Sightseeing Tour
A whole day sightseeing tour after breakfast will make you familiar with the environs of Gangtok. Within this tour, you will be visiting Namgyal Research Institute of Tibetology, Enchey Monastery, Himalayan Zoological Park, White Hall, Do-DrulChorten and the renowned Rumtek Monastery. Come evening, you will be guided back to the hotel; overnight stay in the hotel.
Post breakfast, you can embark upon a vivacious tour to the mesmeric valleys of Uttarey. The rustic villages of Uttarey still hold the bucolic charm and they offers a balmy as well as memorable experience. With the completion of this tour, you will be transferred to a hotel in Uttarey; overnight stay at the hotel.
Trek to Chewabhanjyang Pass
Trekking through the rugged terrains of Uttarey will embark today. A trek of 3,144 metres from Uttarey will take you to the Chewabhanjang Pass, one of the major passes in the Indo-Nepal Borderline. After reaching the palatial sites of the pass, you can amble around the shops near the pass and explore their pictorial grandeur.
Trekking Uphill, Cardamom Plantation, Campsite
Post breakfast, you can ascend uphill and on passing the misty forests you will arrive at the other side of the hill. Fringed with prayer flag and embossed with the picturesque views of the mountains, this region depicts an adorable phase and can be hardly missed. Ascending further, you can catch the glimpses of the yak herder’s huts and the aromatic cardamom plantations. Hiking from here will take you to the campsite located below the edge of the valley; overnight stay in the camp.
Sunrise View, Mt Everest and Khangchendzonga, Sacred Temples
An early morning walk will take you to the edge of the peak from where you can behold the astounding sunrise views over both the Mt Everest and Khangchendzonga. Post sunrise view, return to the campsite and have breakfast. After breakfast, today’s schedule will comprise descending as well as ascending and reach the other side of the ridge. During the course of trekking, you can visit several sacred temples and witness the rare Blue Sheep on the mountainside. A rigorous trekking of almost 7 hours will bring you to the campsite, located near the summer settlements of the shepherds.
Mt Everest, Kabru Range
Today, a delightful trek through the woods will take you to Pokhari. The amazing views of the entire Kabru Range, dominated by Mt Pandim (6,691m) will make the trek more amusing. Ascending further for 2 hours, you will reach the Laxmi Pokhari campsite. Rest of the day will be at leisure; overnight stay will be at the camp.
Laxmi Pokhari, Himalayas, Mt Khangchendzonga
After having breakfast in the camp, you can visit Laxmi Pokhari, the sacred lake. On surmounting this region, you will re-enter into the province of Sikkim. Here onwards, you can expect a little amount of snow underfoot while climbing towards the Danphe Bhir La pass, popularly known as the ‘Pass of the Pheasant’. While at the pass, you can have panoramic views of Sikkim; pleasant views of Tibet and Bhutan can also be procured.
Trekking further from the pass, you will arrive at the Kag Bhir La Pass or the ‘Pass of the Crow’. From this pass, you can catch the panoramic views of the great Himalayan Range and the Mt Khangchendzonga. Following the descending trails from Kah Bhir La Pass, you will approach towards the campsite near the river.
Fir and Rhododendron Forests
Post breakfast, trekking will continue through the pleasing silver fir and rhododendron forests followed by your arrival at the lush meadows of Kokling. Hereafter, descending terrains will take you to the campsite at Tikip Chu.
