Trip Starting From: Bagdogra

About the Activity:

  • Regardless of its size, Sikkim, the most cleanest state of India, submits surprisingly wonderful attractions, normally, nature's creations.
  • To be amused at some of the pride possessions of Sikkim with the accompaniment of an enlarged sect of Himalayan mountain peaks, you are invited to join a pervasive trek to  Goecha La.
  • From the Goecha La pass, one can absorb the undeniable views of Mt. Kanchenjunga.
  • This 11 day trek starts from the moment you arrive at Bagdogra or NJP railway station in the morning on the first day.
  • From there, you commence your tour, first to Yuksom and continue to sojourn in Sachen, Tshoka, Bhakim, Dzongri, Phedang, Thansing, Kokchurang, Lamuney etc.
  • The thick rhododendron and oak forests will pave the way for an enthusiastic trek that goes through different yet challenging ascents and descents. Around 17000 feet altitude is going to be yours during this trek.
  • Capture the beguiling beauty of the snow-clad peaks seen before your eyes, and the expansive green meadows in the valley down from the great height you are and search for the overflowing happiness.
  • The package includes food, accommodation in tents and guesthouses as well as transportation during the trip.


  • Day 1 -

    Bagdogra airportof NJP railway station

    Once you reach Bagdogra airportof NJP railway station around the morning time, get a drive to Yuksom.

    Goecha La trek's gateway is Yuksom. After you arrive there, check-in to your guesthouse.

    Rest of the day would be at your leisure. Spend as you like.

    At the guesthouse, have dinner and stay overnight.

  • Day 2 -

    Beginning of Goechala Trek

    Commence your trek to Goechala in the morning,

    The treks to Sachen, Rathong and Mentogang River are happening today.

    Walk past the rugged plains and terrains and continue walking through the green meadows along the Rathong River.

    The forest range you cross would be offering you some of the most scenic visuals of the replenishing nature.

    Trek around 30 minutes to reach the Pha Khola Bridge. From there, the trek will be expecting more steeper and challenging moments.

    Trek to Sachen will be through more dense forest areas, bridges as well as the enticing Mentogang River.

    Around 7100 feet above sea level you will be then.

    Ascend to 100 feet more from the Mentogang River bank which will lead you to arrive at the Sachen Campsite.

    Upon arrival, check-in to the small huts and retire for the day.

  • Day 3 -

    Sachen (7,150ft) to Tshokha (9,700ft) via Bhakim (8,600 ft).

    Today, you are going to encounter with a short and steep climb toward the immaculate valleys of Tshoka.

    The azure water of the Perk River will surprise you throughout the way.

    Continue ascending through the steep forest areas of Yuksom to reach Bakhim.

    The real fun hidden in Goechala Trek unwinds from now on.

    After a point where you can witness the prayer flags, you will experience a fall in temperature, walk through the scenic trails of oak forests and the rhododendrons forests.

    Walk past the amazing hills as well and reach Bakhim within an hour.

    Relax for sometime in a forest rest-house.

    Trek toward Shoka afterwards, conquer the more challenging steep slopes and reach the height of 9000 feet around.

    Once you reach Tshoka, check-in to a trekker's hut and wind up the day.

  • Day 4 -

    Tshokha to Dzongri (12,980ft) via Phedang (12,000ft)

    In the morning, set out for a trek to an attractive pond and from there to a monastery.

    Take the right path from the monastery and proceed to the climb the steep slopes.

    The easy trails will lead you to step into the wooden logs and pebbled terrains.

    Phedang is your next destination reaching in around 20 minutes.

    At Phedang, relax and have lunch.

    Then, hike to an azure stream called Kockchurang, it is the major water source of the region.

    Continue onward to meet more steep terrains until you reach Dzongri, spend some time in the amicable serenity.

    Enjoy the views from a height of 12890 feet and later come across the small huts on the road where you stay in Phedang.

  • Day 5 -

    Acclimatisation day at Dzongri

    Spend the day at Dzongri to be familiar with the climate as the temperature here would be highly unpredictable.

  • Day 6 -

    Trek to Dzongri Top (13,675ft) and Thansing (12,900ft) via Kokchurang

    Make your shoes tight as you are going to climb 1000 feet slope first and then again a 1000 feet to Dzongri Top.

    The panoramic view of Pandim, Kanchenjunga and other mountain peaks can be witnessed from the top.

    Later, descend down and cross the rhododendron forests and then the trek would be gradual and you will feel at ease.

    Upon arrival at Kokchurang, trek for another 50 meter and reach the Prechku River.

    Check-in to the tents pitched by the trek facilitators.

    The cold breeze and the beautiful forests would be an unforgettable sight.

  • Day 7 -

    Trek from Thansing to Lamuney (13,600ft)

    In the morning, embark on a trekking trip through the relishing meadows.

    Halt at Lamuney and then continue walking through the steep slopes of the mountains across ridges which would impose quality challenges to you.

    Arrive at the campsite and opt to visit the Samiti Lake.

    Descend back to the campsite at Lamuney as you won't be permitted to camp near the lake.

  • Day 8 -

    Trek from Lamuney to Goechala (16,000ft) and then to Thansing (via Samiti Lake)

    The longest trek of the trip happens today.

    Wake up around 03:00 AM and leave the campsite at Lamuney.

    Ascent toward the Samiti Lake and enjoy the ecstatic views of the surrounding mountain peaks.

    From there, continue to Zemathang, 90 minutes away from Goecha La.

    As you reach Goecha La, relax by the pristine beauty of the incomparable natural vistas.

    Then return to Thansing via Lamuney.

  • Day 9 -

    Trek from Thansing to Tshokha (via Phedang)

    From Thansing, continue trekking to Phedang today and from there to Tshoka.

    Cross a series of mountain and other natural spectacle during the journey.

    The astounding Pandim mountain would let you forget the challenges you face during the trek.

    Arrive at Tshoka and check-in to you camp.

    Retire for the night later.

  • Day 10 -

    Trek from Tshoka to Yuksom (via Bhakim and Sachen)

    Descend to Yuksom in the morning.

    The views of mesmerising Bhakim and Sachen would be accompanying you.

  • Day 11 -

    Drive from Yuksom to NJP

    The last day of the trekking trip is today.

    You will be dropped back to Bagdogra airport or NJP railway station for your onward journey.
