Trip Starting From: Port Blair

Trip Location: Port Blair

Ross Island and Chidiatapu have a lot in its gallery to unwind before the eyes of its visitors, because of that, you will need a whole day to explore these idyllic locations genuinely. Located very near to Port Blair, Ross Island was the administrative headquarter once for the Britishers and now nature came back with its toll to let it remain as a beauty, undying over the years. Chidiatapu is 30 KM away from Port Blair, accommodating different species of birds in large numbers and the perfect spot to witness the most beautiful sunset on the Andaman Islands.

About Ross Island and Chidiatapu Tour:
You will be picked up from your accommodation in Port Blair around 10:00 AM and transferred to Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex and hop on a boat and depart to Ross Island around 11:00 AM. Spend ample time to stroll and behold the mind-blowing sights. The ruins of old buildings like Chief Commissioner, House, Government House, Church, Bakery, Press, Swimming Pool, Cemetery, etc in a dilapidated condition can be seen here. Afterwards, return to Port Blair by 02:30 PM and go to have lunch at a restaurant. Post lunch around 03:30 PM, proceed to Chidiyatapu where a plethora of natural extravaganzas awaits your arrival, specifically the colourful, rare species of birds. You will be going through the forest covers and small hills during the trip to Chidiatapu. Conclude the tour after watching the exotic sunset far in the horizon and if you are a trekking enthusiast, then utilize the time to trek to Munda Pahar from Chidiyatapu. Later, return to Port Blair and wind up the exciting tour by 06:30 PM.

    Ross Island and Chidiyatapu visit was one of the tours we tried during our honeymoon trip in the island and we had a good time and happy to see those ancient buildings which have a lot of history with them. But the ruins tell a lot about those dark times of India. For those who love to know history, Ross Island can be a good choice. I liked the time we spent in Chidiyatapu more. When the sun sets, the blue water of the ocean just turns to become a multicoloured liquid. We had a great refreshing time there.

    It is a good tour but if you are spending more days in Andamans only. The highlight is the sunset views while the rare species of birds fly across, from Chidiyatapu Island.
