The Phanaswadi waterfall trek is a memorizing trek that I would never forget in my lifetime. Longing to go on this trek again with my family, I had been on this trek last week with my friends. The whole trek went on smoothly without any sort of problem. The best part which I loved about this trek is the way it was organized. The guides were co-operative and helped us a lot.

When I heard about a waterfall at Belgaum I was not able to believe, I thought Belgaum was all about saris and clothing. But this trek changed my entire opinion. If you are planning for some short time trip that has to be different and fun, you can go ahead with this trip. It is worth the money spent on it. I recommend this trek for budget conscious trekkers.

Overview

Delight in a waterfall trek involving crossing state borders of Karnataka and Maharashtra. Discover the Phanaswadi Waterfalls. Go over steep ascends and equally inclined descends, through the green thickets of Kankumbi forests in the Sahayadri ranges. A total trek distance of 12km over 6 hours creates a magical escapade ending at the waterfall, which is widely known for providing chilled showers if you go close below.

The guided trek begins with regular procedures of hotel transfer around 7am to Kankumbi campsite. Have your fill of a wholesome breakfast as you prepare for your action-packed day. Around 10am, a short drive takes you to Maan Village, from where you’ll start your trek. The trail lives up to its promise of thrills and chills evident in the surroundings. Since access to the falls is only from Belgaum in Karnataka, you will cross the border to reach the falls located in Sindhudurg District of Maharashtra. Have packed lunch on the way.

But of course, the best part of your trek is the Phanaswadi Waterfall. Spend some time in the cool water relishing the tranquillity and peace around. Head back to Mann Village and reach Kankumbi campsite by 6pm. After a quick round of refreshments, you’ll be dropped back to your accommodation in Belgaum.

Duration: This one day trek would take around 6 hours

Difficulty: Moderate

Trekking at Phanaswadi was nice even though I didn’t like it greatly. I am a regular trekker and had better experiences before. Overall the trek was normal and okaish. I didn’t carry proper clothing and this was also one of the reasons for my bad experience. Even though it is a bit scary, it is definitely worth a try.

Taking up a trek to the Phanaswadi waterfall was like an icing to the cake. Each part of the trek is a memory that I would never forget in my lifetime. I happened to take up this trek with my boyfriend and it happened to be a good one. The guides however couldn’t speak in our local language and so we had a bit problem in understanding their language, otherwise everything went out smoothly.

A very delightful waterfall trek that is not only amazing but exciting too. The overall experience was good and I would recommend this trek. Crossing the border to reach this waterfall destination was a different experience. As this trek is a moderate one even the amateurs can opt to pick the Phanaswadi waterfall trek.

It was a fun and great experience. I never knew about this waterfall trekking even excited until my friends had planned for a sudden trek to this place. I loved the trekking as it involved crossing the two state borders of Maharashtra and Karnataka. I never wanted this trek to end as it was super cool and exciting.

This is surely a great trek for youngsters. My friends had planned for this trek for my birthday; I enjoyed every bit of the trek. The whole trek was over in a day, and this was one of my best gifts in the form of a trek. The place wasn’t much crowded and so I was able to enjoy each and every bit of the trek.

Waterfall and trekking – what can be better than this combination. If you are a lover of trekking and love to enjoy the waters, give this trek to Phanaswadi a try and you will never repent for the same. I was bit reluctant to take up this waterfall trek, but I ended up enjoying to the core at the end of the trek. I am waiting to go for this trek once more.

Great trek planned and executed well. I have no complaints on this trek. As this was my first waterfall trekking I felt it little scary and weird. Otherwise everything went out well. I had a great time with my friends at this waterfall trek at Belgaum.

Totally worth each penny spent on it. I don’t spent much and so this trek happened to fit into my budget. One day trek with a very nominal rate tag. Young waterfall trekking lovers should try out this trek for sure.
