Overview

About the Namo Buddha Tour :

- The
Namo Buddha Tour is a half-day tour which includes a visit to the idyllic religious site of the Namo Buddha statue, the Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery which is an abode to over 250 monks, a monastic college and the Kailashnath Mahadev Statue.

- This tour traverses through the hills, mountain villages, terraced fields of paddy, verdant forests, and also introduces you to the rural livelihood of the Nepalese folk.

- This planned trip allows you to take a stroll around the monastery draped in layers of grandeur and mystical stories of the ancient past and sense the symbolic holy chant of the many monks if you are fortunate enough.

- With this relaxed trip, you get to wander down the cobble stoned alleys of a medieval town that seems to be pulled out of a picture postcard.

- Lastly, the tour ends with a lip-smacking lunch at a hilltop resort in the backdrop of Nepal Himalayas, cornered in the village of Dhulikhel which is famed as a Newari Town.

- This trip includes the services of a professional guide and is a join-in tour.

About the Namo Buddha Monastery

The Namo Buddha Monastery is also known as the Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery. Located at a distance of about 40 km from Kathmandu, this Tibetan Buddhist Monastery, lies at a hilltop and is famed to be known as one of the prime tourist attractions of Nepal.

The Namo Buddha Monastery treasures a folktale of yesteryear. Based on the narratives of ancient legends, in an era, 6000 years ago, a prince called Mahasatwo was crossing through the jungle, when he saw a tigress and her cubs starving out of hunger, and in an aura of compassion and selflessness, offered his flesh and blood to the tiger family. After which the bones remaining were brought to the tomb, which in the present day, is the actual stupa of the Namo Buddha Monastery.

After centuries, when Gautama Buddha, came to Namo Buddha Monastery, he disclosed him to be the reincarnation of Prince Mahasatwo.
Such a legendary tale of the ancient time is what makes the monastery exclusive; to consider going for the Namo Buddha Tour.
