About the Activity:

Gear up at Chandigarh and embark on this Ladakh tour on bike of a lifetime that will take you through some of the most beautiful landscapes, untouched by whims of mankind. Rev up the 350cc Royal Enfield engines and manoeuvre the winding roads that connect the northern frontier of India.

Going through the bustling townscape of Manali, the Ladakh by bike tour takes the riders through some of the highest motorable passes in the world. On the way, it also get the bikers to taste the enthralment of cruising the fascinating Gata Loops and the unpredictable curves of the greater Himalayas.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Arrival in Chandigarh

    Airport Transfer, Briefing, Leisure Day

    Your arrival at the Chandigarh airport signals the beginning of Ladakh tour on bike. Get transferred to the hotel and gather your energies to embark on the long drive next day.

  • Day 2 - Driving from Chandigarh to Manali (330km)

    Bilaspur, Kullu Valley, Mandi, Manali, Receipt of Bikes

    Begin your day with a hearty breakfast and embark on what is the first day of this epic journey. You will driving up to Manali, which lies at around 330km and takes about 12 hours to reach to. Taking the road that passes through Bilaspur, Mandi and the Kullu valley, you will finally reach the bustling town of Manali in the evening. This is where you will receive your bikes and conduct any adjustments if required. Retire for the night and conserve your energies to begin the ride the next day.

  • Day 3 - Riding from Manali to Keylong (via Tandi)

    100km Ride, First Day of the Ride, Rohtang Pass, Tandi, Keylong

    Today you will be beginning on what promises to be an exciting adventure through the valleys of Ladakh and Kashmir as you embark on the first ride of Ladakh by bike tour through Tandi to reach the town of Keylong. It is strongly advised that you fuel up your bikes at Tandi, because it is the last filling station before Leh. Overnight will be in a hotel at Keylong.

  • Day 4 - Riding from Keylong to Sarchu (via Jispa and Baralacha La)

    130km Ride, Baralacha La, Bharatpur

    Today, you will be heading on the way to the vast plains of Sarchu. The road will take you through the Baralacha La which is the third highest motorable road in the world. After a brief stopover at Darcha, we will resume our way towards Sarchu, stopping only for a quick lunch at Bharatpur in a rustic Dhaba. Sarchu, lies at about an hour’s drive from here. Upon reaching, you will be retiring to your rooms at a hotel in Sarchu.

  • Day 5 - Ride from Sarchu to Leh (Via Gata Loops and Moore Plains)

    230km Ride, Gata Loops, Moore Plains

    Today is an extensive day of riding as you will be covering a distance of almost 230km. Although the 21 Gata Loops present challenges at ever hairpin curve, they reward you exhilarating sceneries all through the way. You will finally reach Leh after this long ride and get some much needed shut eye.

  • Day 6 - Leh

    Rest Day

    Let down your gear and get some much needed rest today after the gruelling ride of the previous day. Check if your bike needs any minor repairs and get it serviced. If the day permits, you can also embark on a visit to the local market at Leh.

  • Day 7 - Riding from Leh to Nubra Valley (via Khardung La)

    135km Ride, Khardung La Pass, Deskit Monastery, Maitreya Buddha, White Sand Dunes, Hunder, Camel Ride

    The morning brings with it a sense of anticipation and excitement as you set on your way to the Nubra Valley. Conquer the world’s highest motorable pass Khardung La and enjoy the majestic views all around. As you arrive at the spectacular ‘Valley of Flowers’ at Nubra check into your campsites and visit the nearby villages of Diskit and Hunder. While Diskit houses the giant statue of Maitreya Buddha. Hunder is adorned with the stark contrast of white sand dunes that are best enjoyed on a camel back ride. Arrive at the camp and relax; overnight in a hotel at Nubra Valley.

  • Day 8 - Riding from Nubra to Leh (Via Khardung La)

    135km Ride, Evening at Leisure

    After conquering the tough riding routes until now, the road back to Leh seems relatively easier. You will again be stopped in your tracks by the marvel of Khardung La before reaching Leh and spending the evening at leisure; overnight stay in a Leh hotel.

  • Day 9 - Leh

    Leisure Day, Leh Market

    Indulge in a day of well-deserved rest today at your hotel in Leh. Replenish your energies for the upcoming days of adventure and take a lazy stroll to the markets of Leh to enjoy some of the best food of the region. Overnight at the hotel.

  • Day 10 - Ride from Leh to Pangong Tso Lake (via Chang La and Tangtse)

    150km Ride, Chang La Pass, Pangong Tso Lake, Tangtse, Shey Palace, Thiksey Monastery

    Munch on a scrumptious breakfast and proceed on the ride towards Pangong Lake. On the way you can also visit the 15th century summer retreat of the Leh Royalty- Shey Palace. The 800 year old Thiksey Monastery surrounds you with the stunning work of the Buddhist masters en-route. Combating the Chang La Pass, you will finally arrive at the Pangong Tso. Feast your eyes on the sight of its cerulean blue water surface and store the sight in your eyes. Stay on the shores of this gorgeous water body and be soothed by the cool breeze flowing towards you.

  • Day 11 - Ride from Pangong Tso to Leh (Via Tangtse and Chang La)

    150km Ride, Hemis Monastery, Stok Palace

    Today as the day rises munch on a succulent breakfast and proceed towards Leh. Upon reaching Leh, a stopover at the Hemis Monastery is a must. Snuggled in a deep gorge, it is the biggest and one of the most prosperous gompas in Ladakh. The Stok palace also deserves a visit as its charming views of the sunrise and sunset will entrance you! The rest of the day is at leisure; overnight will be in a hotel at Leh.

  • Day 12 - Ride from Leh to Kargil (Via Uleyktopo)

    230km Ride, Gurudwara Pathar sahib, Magnetic Hill, Liker Monastery

    Rise bright and early today morning to embark on a drive to Leh. Accompanying you will be the Indus River on the Leh-Kargil Highway. Witness the skills of the lamas at the Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, get befuddled by the puzzling effects of Magnetic Hill, unravel the mysteries if Liker monastery and meet the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers. You will then head towards Kargil, which will be your halt for the day.

  • Day 13 - Ride from Kargil to Srinagar (Via Drass & Sonmarg)

    120km Ride, Sonmarg, War memorial, Houseboat Stay

    After the gruelling ride of the previous day, this day is relatively easy on you! Today you will be heading towards the heavenly surroundings of the Kashmir valley. The road to Sonmarg from Kargil is approximately 120km long. Passing through Drass, pay your respects he soldier at the war memorial that commemorates the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. The day draws to a perfect close at a houseboat in Sonmarg which will be your home for the night.

  • Day 14 - Ride from Srinagar to Jammu

    300km Ride, Gulmarg, Jammu

    Gulmarg; meaning the way of the flowers, lives up to its name. You will be reaching this beautiful town on the way to Jammu after you depart Srinagar. On this last but one day of the riding expedition, you will be bidding goodbye to your bikes today; the day ends at Jammu in a hotel.

  • Day 15 - Departure from Jammu

    Onward Journey, Tour Ends Here

    Amongst the heavenly sights of Jammu, your riding expedition to Ladakh reaches its epic finale. Bid goodbye to these lands that resemble paradise, with your hearts heavy and lighter at the same time!
