Observe and acquaint yourself with region as you pass through rare and endemic flora and fauna of the Garhwal Himalayas that form a part of the trail. The Chamoli district, which is the home of Kuari Pass trek, is blessed with some of the most stunning waterfalls, chuckling streams and dense forests of oak, pine and rhododendron that you will pass through on your way up.

Encircled by such lofty peaks as Chaukhamba, Kamet, Nilgiri, Nanda Devi, Dunagiri and others, Kuari Pass lies shadowed and protected. Over this 9 days Kuari Pass trekking experience, get a taste of the life of the innocent yet hardened mountainfolk as you pass through the many villages that dot the landscape and marvel at the magnificence of the snowy peaks. On a whole, the Kuari Pass trek will take you to a world, you have never seen before, challenges you have never heard before and the pristine nature you have never dreamt before!

  • Day 1 - Train Journey from New Delhi to Haridwar

    Overnight journey

    Embark on an overnight train journey and mark the beginning of this exciting Kuari Pass trek; expect to arrive in the holy city of Haridwar by next day morning.

  • Day 2 -  Drive from Haridwar to Chefna

    Picturesque Drives, Meeting point of Himalayan Rivers, Camping

    After arriving fresh and early at Haridwar, you will be setting off on a long journey towards Chefna. Following the Ganges River you will then meet its sister, Alaknanda to reach the convergence of Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnprayag and Nandprayag. Follow the way of these holy rivers to reach Chefna, on the banks of the Nandakini River, where you will rest for the night at the campsite.

  • Day 3 - Trek from Chefna to Ghunni (2,550m)

    Trekking Begins, Nandakini River

    After a walk across the bridge over Nandakini River, we begin the trek towards the village of Ghunni. The way forward is long, but relatively easy till you reach our campsite at Ghunni. The stay for the night is situated right next to the village school.

  • Day 4 - Trek from Ghunni to Sam Kherak (2,400m)

    Ramni Pass, Steep Climb

    Today morning, you will be on your way to Sam Kherak. The terrain is steep initially, but soon levels out to the grassy meadows of Ramni Pass. Going through lush forests you will reach your destination and get the first sighting of Kuari Pass after a long but steady descent towards your campsite for the day at Sam Kherak.

  • Day 5 - Trek from Sam Kherak to Pana (2,450m)

    Jhenjipani Village, Long Descent, Birahiganga River, Camping

    Gather your energies as you embark on a long descent through shadowy forest lands to reach the Jhenjipani. Continuing the way, walk across the suspension bridge over the Birahiganga River. After an hour of climbing, you will be reaching the campsite at Pana, where you will spend overnight.

  • Day 6 - Trek from Pana to Dhakwani (3,341m)

    Gradual Trekking, Steep Descent, Waterfalls

    You will be beginning the trail for the day by climbing the elevation just above your campsite. Then the trail becomes flat before descending sharply to a gushing waterfall and a sharp ascends sharply towards a stream. The hour and half’s climb is final for the day and brings us to reach the campsite at Upper Dhakwani where you will be staying for the night.

  • Day 7 - Trek from Dhakwani to Tali (3310m)

    Kuari Pass, Panoramic Views, Easy Trek

    Lo and behold! Today you will rise nice and early in order to make the best of the weather conditions to power on towards Kuari Pass. Watch the 270Degree panoramic view of the majestic Himalayan peaks that will take your breath away! Surrounded by these ancient mountain ranges, don’t be surprised if you feel a moment of epiphany coming along. Carry this momentous feeling and walk towards the campsite at Tali for a couple of hours to stay in the campsite.

  • Day 8 - Trek from Tali to Auli (3,000m), Drive from Auli to Pipalkoti

    Final Day of Trekking, Nanda Devi Peaks, Gorson Medaows, Driving to Pipalkoti

    Start the day today with a gradual uphill climb to witness the grandeur of the Nanda Devi peak, which at 3,300m is the highest peak in Uttarakhand and second highest within the country! Passing upper Tali, you will be walking along sides of the cliff to cross the threshold to Gorson meadows. Reach the GMVN cottages to set off on a drive from Auli to Pipalkotii, where you will rest for the night in a hotel.

  • Day 9 - Drive from Pipalkotii to Haridwar, Train Journey from Haridwar to Delhi

    Scenic Drives, Haridwar, Tour Ends Here

    The day begins early in order to reach Haridwar in time for the Shatabdi Express that will take you back to Delhi, where you will be arriving at 10.45PM. With this journey, curtains close on this spectacular trekking excursion to Kuari Pass!
