About the Activity:

If you are some who loves to travel and check out diverse cultures and places, this tour is the right one to pick. The trip is planned in a way that will bring to you, the true blend of Kerala’s unique beauty and rustic charm. Starting from the enchanting landscapes of Munnar to the beauty of Periyar and Kumarakom, these is a lot to see, enjoy and explore in this tour. There is also the rare experience of houseboat cruising along the backwaters that Kerala is so famous for. One also has the golden opportunity to spend some quality time at the pristine beaches of the state before departing back to their home with lifetime memories to cherish.

  • Day 1 - Cochin to Munnar (125 kms, 4 hours by road)


    Upon your arrival in the port city Cochin, you will be driven towards Munnar, which was once the summer capital for the British Government. Along with the pleasant weather all the year round, Munnar is known for its picturesque hills and the tea gardens. Once you reach the town, check-in at the hotel and spent the day at leisure.

  • Day 2 - Munnar

    Lakkam Falls, Rajamalai Wildlife Sanctuary, Trekking

    Post breakfast, you will be taken for a visit to Rajamalai Wildlife Sanctuary where you can see various kinds of animals including the wild goats or the Nilgiri Tahrs. This will be followed by a short trip to the enchanting Lakkam Falls. A short trek through the forest is also in store followed by an overnight stay.

  • Day 3 - Munnar

    Mattupetty Lake/Dam, Echo Point, Kundala Tea Plantation, Top Station

    Early in the morning, you will be taken to Top Station from where you can get the panoramic views of the neighbouring state Tamil Nadu. This will be followed by a short visit to Mattupetty Lake/Dam and Echo Point. In Mattupetty Lake, you can also go for boating and have a delightful experience. Moving further, visit the Kundala Tea Plantation on and return to the hotel by evening; overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 4 - Munnar to Periyar (Thekkady) (85 kms, 2 hours by road)

    Periyar Lake, Periyar Tiger Reserve, Sightseeing

    Post breakfast, the delightful roads from Munnar will take you to Periyar. Upon arriving in Periyar by noon, check-in into the hotel and visit Periyar Lake. Take a Boat Safari and explore the pristine beauty of the surroundings including the dwellers of the Periyar National Park. Enjoy the astounding views of the enchanting wildlife till evening when you will be guided back to the hotel; overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 5 - Periyar to Kumarakom (120 kms, 3 hours by road)

    Today morning, after having breakfast in the hotel, you will be driven to Kumarakom. Upon your arrival in the afternoon, you will be checked-in into the hotel; enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

  • Day 6 - Kumarakom to Alleppey (47 kms, 1 hour by road)

    Houseboat Cruising, Tranquil Backwaters, Village Tour, Lakes, Canals

    Post breakfast, you will be driven towards Alleppey for some of the most beautiful experiences of your life. Alleppey, a rustic settlement in Kerala known for its backwaters and houseboats which are known as Kettuvallams locally. Check-in into one of the houseboats and take a backwater cruise. Equipped with all the modern amenities, the presence of trained and expert crew members will add more fun and delight to your stay in the houseboat. Explore the pristine backwaters, local villages, lakes, canals and the river islands. By evening, enjoy the delicious Keralian cuisine followed by a blissful overnight stay on the boat.

  • Day 7 - Alleppey to Kovalam (159 kms, 3 hours by road)

    Kovalam Beach Activities

    Morning, post breakfast, the drive to Kovalam, one of the renowned beach towns in the world will embark from Alleppey. Once you reach and check-in into the hotel and the rest of the day can be spent on the beach spending quality time or else enjoying beach activities followed by an overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 8 - Kovalam – Trivandrum – Kovalam (Each way 11 kms, 20 minutes by road)

    Day Trip to Trivandrum

    The day starts with hot breakfast followed by a day’s trip to Trivandrum and visit to Napier Museum and Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple. Post these visits, return to Kovalam and spent the playfully at the Kovalam Beach. Overnight stay will be in Kovalam.

  • Day 9 - Kovalam to Trivandrum

    Tour Ends Here

    Today morning, after having breakfast in the hotel, check-out from the hotel and you will be transferred to Trivandrum. Upon arriving at the capital city, you will be dropped at the Trivandrum Airport/Railway Station. With your drop-off, this pleasant backwater tour will come to an end.

    I was little dissapointed by the services of hotel staffs in the beginning but later everything was just fine. The south indian food was really spicy...can not forget the taste. It was my firstb trip to kerala and i have decided to go there again in my next vacation. Dont miss out the houseboat driving adventure, its real fun.

    kerela backwater trip was mindblowning, i had taken this trio with my family. my kids had a wondrful time and so did we both. it was a good mixture of family, fun and romance. good itenary and covers god parts of kerela. only negative part is that it was to much of travelling, i would suggest keep more days at allepay for the back waters.

    Awesome experience of my life was this crazy boating in kerala blackwaters. This houseboat has a chef and two crew takes care of all the amenities in the boat. it was a wonderful experience.
