In the evening hit the streets and immerse in the sounds, sights, smells and sensations of the chaotic and vibrant marketplaces of Downtown Amman; it truly is a one of a kind experience.
Walk by internet cafés, bookshops and traditional smoke-filled coffee shops, where groups of people eating at sidewalk tables create a lively evening buzz.
Find antiques amongst electric equipment and vintage furniture, little shops selling gold and silver and fragrant, rich spices, and locals shopping for all sorts of vegetables, fruits, meats, herbs, and breads.
After a long day gallivanting, enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant and fill up on your first authentic Jordanian dinner which will have kebabs, mezze and more.
Tonight’s festive atmosphere is perfect for getting to know your new travel mates better.
Stay overnight in a hotel in Amman.
After breakfast, pull on your sneakers and get ready for one of your most exciting adventures in Jordan.
Hike through Wadi Mujib, Jordan's most spectacular river canyon. Accompanied by a local guide, walk through ankle-deep water, following the gushing stream that leads deep into the canyon, and ends with a view of a large, rushing water-fall. Walking through the narrow stream between the 100 feet walls of the towering, red sandstone cliffs, clambering over small, fast-flowing waterfalls and fighting the feisty current with each step, feel like a real explorer.
This trek will take about 2-3 hours in total. After that drive in a private coach to Petra. Lunch will be at a local restaurant on the way.
In the evening have your dinner at the hotel and turn in for the night.
After breakfast with the girls, head out for an entire day in Petra, the famed rock-carved, rose-red city, once home to the Nabateans.
Wander about hundreds of rock-hewn monuments cut with a refinement that's hard to believe, and climb 800 rock-cut steps to the Monastery Al Deir for one of the best views of Petra.
Also visit to Petra at night for a truly magical experience. Walk through the Siq, following a candle lit path in silence (talking and phones are banned), until you reach the colossal facade of the Khazneh, bathed in the light of thousands of little candles. This is an experience that will burn bright in your mind, and linger for a lifetime.
Catch your breath and have a cup of tea before the climb down. After reaching hotel in evening have dinner and retire for the night.
After breakfast, drive in a private air-conditioned coach to the Sun City camp in Wadi Rum and check in. The camp is in the heart of the Bedouin tribes’ desert territory.
Few places have the power to astonish you quite like Wadi Rum where the primeval lunar-like landscape of giant craggy granite, basalt and sandstone mountains and glittering red sands conspire to render you speechless.
In the evening head back to the camp. For dinner, feast on ‘zarb’ - a whole lamb cooked in a traditional pit, mezza, salads and a wide selection of freshly baked bread. Then lounge on carpets and sip rich cardamom-flavoured coffee as you watch the Milky Way spread out across a pitch-black night sky.
Those fond of sunrises can wake up early to see the dawn break over the desert
After breakfast, drive in a private coach to the Dead Sea.Known for being a destination for relaxation and medical therapy, the sea’s natural mud is believed to be filled with beneficial nutrients, so be sure to smother some on. Then wash it off by floating in the gently lapping waters of the Dead Sea. Alternately, relax in the swimming pool of the hotel or treat yourself to a soothing massage.
Have your dinner at the hotel and retire for the night.
Post breakfast drive back to Amman and check in at the hotel.
In the afternoon, have some free time on your own for retail therapy. In Amman’s souks, you’ll have plenty to choose from - keffiyeh scarves, embroidered pillow cases and blouses, silver necklaces with your name in Arabic, hand-painted ceramics etc. Do not feel shy to haggle.
In the evening eat a delicious home-cooked meal with a local family and stay in the hotel overnight.
Enjoy your last breakfast at the hotel with travel mates, and drive to the International airport in Amman to board your flight back home.
By the end, you will leave this trip with amazing memories and new friends.
