The castle’s unique maze-like layout and defensive openings, or sama, were ingeniously designed to thwart intruders. Know Before You Go for Himeji Castle
- Himeji Castle is open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the last entry at 3:30 PM. It is advisable to visit early in the day to avoid crowds and fully enjoy the experience.
- Comfortable footwear is recommended as the tour involves walking, often on uneven or stone paths.
- Please note there is an additional fee for the Koko-en Garden, which is a beautiful adjacent Japanese garden.
- A minimum of 2 people are required for this activity.
- Kindly ensure timely arrival at the pick-up location.
- The approximate activity duration will be 3 hours.
- The instructor reserves the right to reject any participant deemed unfit to be part of the activity.
- ID proof is mandatory for each guest at the time of booking, and also upon arrival. PAN card will not be considered as a valid address proof.

- Himeji Castle is not fully wheelchair accessible due to its maze-like layout and steep stairs. However, the castle’s outer grounds and Koko-en Garden are more accessible to those with limited mobility.
- Photography is usually allowed inside the castle. It is prohibited to use the monopod, tripod or a selfie stick inside the building. These items may also be prohibited outside, in case of heavy congestions and other reasons.
