About the Destination:

The northern Satpuda range proudly adorns its rugged terrains with gorgeous forts that boast of Indian history dating back to thousands of years! The Gawilgad, Melghat and Narnala terrains are home to forts that are rarely explored by man, due to its camouflage in the depth of the hills.

Gawilgad town’s crown jewel is the Gawilgad fort, located 3km out of the town. Spread over an area of 15 to 16km, this fort is an amazing sight for the history lover. Beyond history, the Satpuda range is steeped in rich nature too!

Situated at the extreme north of the Amravati district of Maharashtra, Melghat stretches to about 1677 km per square and is home to over 30 different types of exotic species!  The Narnala fort too is an amazing fort that is a must visit for trekkers to explore! 

About the Activity with Details:

If you need to spend a few days in the lap of Indian history and culture, then there are three exotic places for you to feel lost in! The magnificent forts of Gawilgad and Narnala await you to explore their every nook and corner. The 3 day trek will take you around the brilliant flora and fauna of the Satpuda range and you could indulge in nature photography and sightseeing during your stay here!

Steeped in rich cultural heritage, you can see the third largest cannon in India on your trek here; the ‘Nau-Gaji Toph’. The two gigantic forts are situated on the border of Melghat wildlife sanctuary, and you could revel in all the elements of nature during your stay here, in the hills of Maharashtra! Engage in trekking, sightseeing and explore history like never before! 

Itinerary

  • Day 1 -

    Arrival at Amarawati, Trekking

    Board the AC Volvo vehicle from Pune at the meeting point as per instructions, and prepare for your onward journey to Amarawati for an amazing trek ahead! 

    After a relaxing journey from Pune, arrive at the campsite in Amarawati and indulge in a delicious breakfast. Gear up with your bags for your onward journey to Chikhaldara and relax while you enjoy a well packed lunch. After you have filled your stomachs, get ready for the journey to Gawilgad, where you can explore the magnificent Gawilgad Fort and revel in the beauty and grace of Indian history! After a long and fruitful trek, make your return journey towards Chikhaldara and halt at the Chikhaldara railway station.

  • Day 2 -

    Journey to Semadoh, Jungle Safari at Melghat

    After a well-deserved breakfast, get ready for your journey to the wonderful terrains of Semadoh. Once there, you could go on a Jungle Safari through the tourist zone of Melghat Reserve. After an exciting day of events, you can gaze at the beautiful stars from the Sipna River Bridge. Unpack and relax for your overnight stay at Semadoh and experience how amazing the jungle is at night!

  • Day 3 -

    Departure for Pune

    Wake up in the wee hours of the morning and gear up for your departure towards Dharni. For the hungry trekkers, relish the breakfast at Dharni and make for your onward journey to the hilly regions of Narnala. Explore the rugged walls of the Narnala fort and once your day is well spent, you can make for your departure for Akola from where you can board the vehicle that takes you back to Pune, which is estimated to reach its destination the next day at 0600AM in the morning.

  • Day 4 -

    Arrival in Pune

    Today morning, expect to arrive in Pune by around 0600 in the morning; with your arrival, this exciting tour will come to an end.
