Trip Location: Ella
Break the monotonous routine and rejuvenate yourself on this meditation tour. Surrounded by a forest cover and mountains with small waterfalls, Rakkhiththakanda is one of the best archeological places for meditation. Here, you will get a chance to learn the meditation lessons from a Buddhist monk that can be practiced in your day to day life.
About the tour:
-You will be picked up from your hotel and drive to starting trekking point. As you reach the starting point, start a hike to the temple through mountains.
-Arrive at the temple and speak to one of the Buddhist monks. Some monks will speak English and some speak only the local language. However, the guide will give an English translation if you find a monk who does not speak English.
-Then you will be taken to one of the meditation places in the jungle closer to the temple. You will start meditation for 3 hours.
-Enjoy a vegetarian lunch served by the Village family. After lunch, you will start your second round of meditation for 2 hours.
-Arrive back to the temple and speak to the monk and share your experience with the meditation. You will also be able to clarify things that you have learned
-You will be leaving the temple and arrive back at the main road. You will be taken back to the hotel. Your tour ends here.

By Bus: Travelling by bus and train takes additional transfers and longer duration compared to private transfers since there are no direct options available from the airport. Buses can be boarded from Colombo Bus Station and the Fort bus stop and the journey takes more than 7 hours.
By Train: The journey by train takes around 8-9 hours. Trains can be boarded from the Fort station.
