Triund Camping Overview

Triund Camping Package Start point/Endpoint: Bhagsu Nag Taxi Stand.


Start Time: 10:00 AM (Day 1).


End Time: 12:00 PM (Day 2).


Total Trekking Distance: 14 KM.


Maximum Altitude: 9432 ft.


Temperature: In summers, during the day, the temperature goes from 16 degrees C to 25 degrees C and at night, it goes from 7 degrees C to 10 degrees C.


In winters, during the day, the temperature goes from 14 degrees C to 18 degrees C and at night, it goes from 1 degree C to 5 degrees C.

About Triund Camping:


  • The trek is about 7 km and it will take around 4 hours to reach the top.
  • The package is inclusive of lunch, Service of an expert team, porters to carry the tent, all necessary permits and entry fees for the trek, Services of Mountain Guide, All safety equipment, first aid kit, etc.
  • The Triund camping package includes vegetarian meals such as lunch on day 1, dinner on day 1 and breakfast on day 2.
  • As you start the trek, you will not find any difficulty in the trail as it is a plane trail with stones.
  • The trail is covered with Rhododendron bushes and tall oak trees as you cross the Bhagsu Falls where the trail gets a bit slippery.
  • Just before reaching the top, you may find difficulty in the trail as it is a steep ascent with a curvy path making the experience a little adventurous.
  • Once you are on the top, behold the magical views of the sun gently splashing the golden glorious lights on the Dhauladhar Ranges that will bring true delight to your inner being.


How to reach:

Mcleodganj lies at a distance of around 500 km from Delhi or about 250 km from Chandigarh. You can either reach by your own car or by using public transport such as train, bus or air.


The best option to reach Mcleod Ganj from Delhi is to catch the overnight Volvo of either HRTC or HPTDC. There are other private operators as well that run buses between Delhi and Dharamshala in the evening.The second and the cheapest option but a hectic one to reach Mcleod Ganj or Triund is to travel by train. One can take a train to Pathankot which takes around 6-7 hours.

Triund Camping Itinerary

Day 1
Triund Trek | Mcleodganj to Triund
  • Arrive at the Bhagsu Nag Taxi Stand before 10:00 AM and begin this adventurous trekking experience.
  • The trek takes you through the Bhagsu falls where you can relax for a while and fill up your water bottles with fresh water. It is the biggest waterfall in McLeodganj and a feast to one's eyes. 
  • Unload your burden of bags at your campsite in Leta/Mana village. Make a stop to for having packed lunch and get back to the journey.
  • As you move towards the top, enjoy the picturesque views of Kangra valley on one side and the Dhauladhar mountain range on the other.
  • Reach the top at around 2:30 PM and witness the glorifying views that this place offers.
  • After enjoying the picturesque views for an hour or two, start descending down.
  • Trek down towards the campsite at Leta/Mana village and reach the destination for taking a break after a tiresome day.
  • Check into the camps at Leta/Mana Village and enjoy some leisure time.
  • Relish the amazing experience of bonfire along with dinner(around 8 PM) with some soothing music under the sky full of stars.
  • Retire for the day and gather your strength for the next day.
Day 2
Triund to Mcleodganj | Departure
  • Wake up to a mesmerizing sunrise in the mountains and feast on a fulfilling breakfast.
  • Explore the mystical views of the surroundings and interact with the local people.
  • Enfold the soothing scenery of a herd sheep grazing in the green meadows as you descend down.
  • Later, enjoy a fun tea session in a tea shack by the ridge and enjoy the views of Kangra Valley at the same time.
  • Reach back to the start point(at around 12:30 PM) and end the trek with a bag full of memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Know Before You Go for Triund Camping

  • The management reserves all the right to modify the trek during any emergencies or natural calamities.
  • All the activities depend upon the weather.
  • Carry dry snacks/food from home (you will save a lot of money). Carry water bottles with you, so that you can refill.
  • Keep your luggage minimum; the more you carry, the more you hassle.
  • Guidelines issued by the State-Government are to be followed. Social distancing to be maintained. Frequent hand sanitisation and use of mask recommended.
  • It is recommended to carry season wise clothes and the right kind of shoes for the trek.
  • Please carry a valid ID proof at the time of the activity.
  • Since its difficult to provide all the facilities in the mountains, one must not expect luxuries. Electricity may be available only at a few locations.
  • Bonfire would be dependent on weather conditions.
  • In case of bad weather any Govt restriction, the campsite location might change to Dharamkot
  • Children below the age of 7 years are not recommended for this Triund camp stay.
  • The Triund camping takes place through an eco-friendly zone; do not encourage littering the local sites or campsites. Travellers littering may be fined.
  • Any personal expenses, items of personal nature, meals not mentioned, etc. will not be in part of the Triund camping package.
