  • This 9 day 8 night tour will let you experience the best of Italy as you make your way through iconic locations and see sights so beautiful, you will be truly moved.
  • The tour starts on arrival at Rome from where you will have to make your own way to the hotel.
  • During the course of this tour, you will cover Rome, Pisa, Lucca, Montecatini, Vinci, Pistoia and end you tour at Florence.
  • The tour includes accommodation, breakfast, transportation and a lot of sightseeing.   


Italy Cycling Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Rome
  • Upon arrival in Rome, you spend the rest of your day at leisure to explore as you please.
  • The arrival transfer is by own arrangement but the detailed travel documents will make it simple for you to find your way to your centrally located boutique hotel.
  • Rome has a lot to offer and you would definitely want to spend your evening exploring.

Day 2
Rome Tour
  • After breakfast, enjoy a guided walking tour of Rome that includes a visit to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum.
  • Stroll through the treasures of the Capitoline Hill, where Augustus, Rome's first emperor, was born.
  • Your evening is free and you may want to head over to the Vatican to admire the Sistine Chapel on your own.
  • Many parts of Rome have lovely squares and often just sitting by and watching life pass by you is an experience in itself.

Day 3
Arrival in Pisa
Province of Pisa
  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel to reach the main rail terminal in time to take your train to Pisa.
  • After your arrival in Pisa, head to the hotel.
  • If your rooms are not ready you can leave your luggage and go over to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
  • In the evening, there will be a briefing on your cycling tour along with a bike fitting.
  • We recommend a dinner at the magnificent old part of town that day.
  • You have an overnight stay at Pisa.

Day 4
Pisa Tour
Province of Pisa
  • Your biggest highlight of the Italian trip starts today. After breakfast, you start riding your touring bike from the square Piazza dei Miracoli, home of the leaning tower and head towards Lake Massaciuccoli.
  • The panorama road onto the lake and the Tyrrhenian Sea offers stunning views.
  • Glide past countless olive groves until you hit River Serchio, continuing along its cycling path to the centre of the fortified city of Lucca.
  • You will pass the historic old part of the town, riding atop the circular city walls.
  • You will stay in the walled city at one of the top rated B&Bs tonight.

Day 5
Montecatini
  • After breakfast, you start your leisurely ride to Montecatini, the spa resort town of Italy.
  • You will spot several baroque villas along today's route to Montecarlo.
  • The village, located on top of a hill, is best known for its excellent white wine and you would definitely want to sample some yourself in one of the charming ‘enotecas’.
  • Riding at your pace, you will go past the Valdinievole valley arriving at Montecatini where you will be staying for two nights.

Day 6
Explore Montecatini
  • After a leisurely breakfast, you will cycle through olive groves on small paths from Montecatini to Vinci, birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci.
  • For those of you who prefer to take it slow, you can stay on in Montecatini but you may regret not only missing out on another Tuscan jewel but also the impressive da Vinci museum that captures the genius of the great inventor.
  • A ride on the funicular to Montecatini Alto is highly recommended before you return to your hotel for the night.

Day 7
Montevettolini Tour
  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and start pedaling towards the small Medieval village of Montevettolini.
  • Today’s riding will reward you with fantastic views of the Arno valley before you ride to Pistoia, a well-kept Tuscan secret often referred to as ‘Little Florence’. Its charming squares and impressive churches will give you a taste of the great neighbouring town of Florence you will discover soon.

Day 8
Poggio a Caiano
  • You may want to get an early start as today, you cycle through the shallow alluvial land between the Arno and Ombrone rivers.
  • You will encounter beautiful gardens and an amazing variety of plants along the route thanks to the fertile plains along the route.
  • Along your route in Poggio a Caiano you will come across one of the most famous Medici villas.
  • Riding past cypressus alamedas, you will encounter the Arno riverbanks and finally will head toward the Ponte Vecchio bridge in Florence.
  • You will want to step out today and explore Florence on your own.
  • Perhaps you would like to celebrate your last evening by making merry with the locals in one of the street cafes.
  • Meals: Breakfast
Day 9
Departure
  • Take a train on your own to head to the airport and return home with amazing memories.
  • Meals: Breakfast

  • Hotels in Europe collect nominal taxes directly from travelers.
  • Please note that most hotel check in timings are post 2 pm in the afternoon and checkout timing is 10 am
