Dawki Boating Overview

Skirting the Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya, Dawki river, also known as Umngot river, is a beautiful green streak that is flanked by Bangladesh and India on either side. The river hosts boating and rising competitions every year and is core in Dawki. Circled by tranquil greenery, the cool waters of Umngot serve as ideal means for boating and Kayaking.

Dawki island is surrounded with lush greenery around, clouds at the top and extreme closeness to natural beauty. The water of the river is so clear that the boats floating on it look as if they are on a crystal glass surface. 

Kayaking :
Be a part of a beautiful experience that takes around the jeweled stream which has some magical creatures floating at the bottom of the bed. Kayaking at Dawki is one of the popular water sport activity offered in Meghalaya. Kayak through the clean water and get the glimpse of the clear Seabed surrounded by lush greenery.
Get an experience to drive the kayak. Training will be provided by the experts and safety gears are provided for maximum protection. 2 people can sit in one kayak for proper balance which would last for 60 minutes. It is compulsory for both swimmers & non-swimmer to wear Life jackets. 

Boating : 
Boating at Dawki is one of the popular water sport activities offered in Meghalaya. Boat through Asia's cleanest river & get the glimpse of the clear Seabed. Experience the joy of boat rides with fishermen in the river surrounded by beautiful mountains & the fascinating views of some of the Rock phases outside and inside the river. The boat man takes a boat ride in which maximum 5 people can sit & will last for 60 minutes. Safety gears are provided for maximum protection & is compulsory for both swimmers & non-swimmer to wear Life jackets. 4 changing rooms are available near the activity point. Don’t forget to experience local food in small shops & cafes around the island after the activity.

How to Reach the Adventure Spot : 

Shared transport are available from Barabazar in Shillong to the border post at Dawki every morning. Buses are also available which will be 70 kilometres (43 min) journey from Shillong.

    This is not our first time on boating and kayaking but Yes, the experience was different because of the river It was so crystal clear that we can see everything underneath along with nice views of the Ranikor bridge and the lush greenery of the hills and valleys, The boat was clean and good, the staff was friendly, good changing room. Overall it was the best of the best and no regret at all being at this place. Definitely recommend.
