Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Depart to onward journey

    Tour ends here

    Today you begin at 400 AM to be at the airport (which airport?) by 900 AM. Move ahead to your onward destination with pleasant memories of your 12 days/ 11 nights Bhutan tour package.

  • Day 2 - Drive from to Samdrup to Trashigang to Mongar (290 km) (11 Hours)

    Trashigang, Traditional Attire Shopping, Sheer Cliffs, Fir Woodlands, Lush Pastures

    Rise and shine early today, by 530 AM to set off to Mongar. Do expect some bad roads, but the great views more than make up for it. You will also be visiting Trashigang along the way. Plonked on a picturesque hillside, Trashigang was a lively trade centre where traders came for bartering their goods in Tibet. This is also a main market of semi-nomads from Merak and Sakteng who are known for their distinct dressing style. You can do a bit of shopping for traditional attire when here.

    As the route winds up close to Mongar, you can lap up the stunning landscapes of sheer cliffs, lovely fir woodlands and lush pastures. Also, set your sights on endless assortments of rhododendrons. If the horizon is clear, Gangkhar Puensum, world’s highest unclimbed mountain can also be visible.

    Reach Mongar by around 600 PM. This locale is renowned for its weavers. The textiles and fabrics manufactured here are considered some of the best in the country. Unwind and retreat for the night at your stay Mongar.

  • Day 3 - Drive from Mongar to Bumthang (190 km) (6 Hours)

    Local Places Visit, Striking Sights

    This spectacular day, you will rise early and unravel the local places. Dash off to the winsome place of Bumthang that is considered as the Switzerland of Bhutan. Along the way, you will be greeted with striking sights that make for perfect photo opportunity.  Spend overnight at Bumthang.

  • Day 4 - Day at Bumthang Valley

    Local Sightseeing, Buckwheat, Rice and Potatoes Fields, Apple Orchards, Dairy Farms

    This delightful day will be spent at leisure as you further explore the Bumthang Valley and engage in some local sightseeing. Comprising of 4 chief valleys namely Ura, Chumey, Tang and Choekhor; the Bumthang Valley is a fetching one. Wide and pictorial, they lure several visitors.

    These splendours are fertile in nature and laced with a carpet of buckwheat, rice and potatoes. You will also be able to witness apple orchards and dairy farms. Get to enjoy the tranquillity of the locale.

  • Day 5 -   Bumthang Valley to Phobjika (170 km) (5 Hours)

    Bird Watching, Nature Trails

    Today is especially a delight for nature and bird watching enthusiasts. Begin early as you can enjoy the beauty of Phobjika more. This bowl-shaped glacial valley rests on the west slopes of Black Mountains and borders Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park.

    As a huge number of blacknecked cranes winter at this place, it makes for a prominent wildlife reserve of Bhutan. Other sightings in the region include barking deer, wild boars, sambars, serows, Himalayan black bears, leopards and red foxes.

    This day, you get to lap up the picturesque visions all around and also click photographs along the way. In the evening, you can delight in leisure time amidst the salubrious settings of the valley.

  • Day 6 - Punakha Dzong, Chimi Lhakhang (unclear about the start point and end point of the day. Please confirm with the vendor) (135 km) (7 Hours)

    Punakha Dzong , Chimi Lhakhang

    Today is an important day as you pay a visit to two notable places. This includes the architecturally stunning Punakha Dzong that holds the finest historical values from Buddhism. Also, Chimi Lhakhang considered as the only monastery across the globe which celebrates reproduction and life.

    Holding historical relevance in the country, the Punakha Dzongkhag was once the country's capital and was where the first national assembly was held. The Punakha Dzong is beautifully constructed at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. The view is especially spectacular when the sun shines and reflects off the water to the white walls.

    Positioned close to Lobesa, Chimi Lhakhang is a Buddhist monastery. The revered shrine belongs to the 15th Century and was constructed on a hillock. There is a wooden phallus adorned with a silver handle here. It is made use of to bless pilgrims, especially women who wish to have children.

  • Day 7 - Day at Thimphu

    Bhudha Point, Monastery, Zoo, Local Market, Bhutanese Food

    This wonderful day, you will revel in a leisurely day in Thimphu, the capital of the country. It is the only capital city in the world that does not use traffic lights. This place offers a find blend of modernity and culture. Here you will find many restaurants, internet cafes, nightclubs and shopping centres along with good ATM banking facilities.

    Today, pay a visit to Bhudha Point, Monastery and Zoo. Also, amble through the local market and do a bit of shopping if you wish. Other delights of the day include digging into Bhutanese food.

  • Day 8 - Drive from Thimphu to Haa Valley (130 km) (4 Hours)

    Nature, Archery, Local Household

    Begin early today, for a winsome journey amidst the Haa valleys. It is a surreal place that sprawls over 1706 sq. km. Replete in the charms of Mother Earth, here you can wallow in nature and also take a stroll across the town. You can also visit local household and dabble with a bit of archery if you wish.

  • Day 9 - Drive from Haa Valley to Paro

    Drive Amidst Valleys, Dzong, Shopping

    This will be a relaxed day as you commence at your own pace and enjoy a lovely drive amidst valleys to arrive at Paro. Saunter about the locale, tour the Dzong and seek some retail therapy too. Paro is ideal for you to shop.
