Situated on Majuli Island, this is the first Bamboo cottage stay offering scenic views. The stay features 2 Bamboo cottages which are designed in a Mishing traditional way completely made of bamboos- from structure to the furniture and are decorated with traditional clothes with all the essential amenities with attached bathrooms & balcony to enjoy scenic views. One cottage consists of 5 bedrooms, which are adjacent to each other and named after flowers such as - Sewali, Nahar, Champa, Keteki, and Khorika. Another cottage is known as "Chang Ghar" and contains 1 bedroom with 3 single beds, a balcony, and an attached washroom. A family restaurant named "Family
kitchen" is around the same boundary where one can enjoy the traditional
cuisines and local food of Majuli.
Majuli is the world's largest river island on the Brahmaputra river in Assam. A tour of the island on bicycles is something not to be missed by outdoor enthusiasts. The stay provides bike rentals. Grab a bicycle and explore the major attractions like Satras- Dakhinpat Satra, Kadimbari Satra, Sri Auniati Satra, etc and experience the ways in which the Mishing tribes live alongside the Assamese populace. Enjoy the local tribe food that includes veg and non-veg both with the popular rice beer. Explore the riverside and take a halt to enjoy the gushing sound of water with the sunset view.
Later, at the stay spend the beautiful evening enjoying the bonfire and Traditional folk dance, which are organized by the host on request of guests. End the day with the delicious traditional food prepared in the open bonfire in the kitchen.
How to reach:
The stay is on Majulu island which can be reached using ferries from Jorhat city boatyard in Assam. There is a time schedule for the public ferries from Jorhat to Majuli. It begins from 8.30 am to 4 pm and run after every 1-2 hours gap.
