It started on Instagram, as a lot of good trips do these days. Karthikeyan and his friends came across Thrillophilia on Instagram and looked at a couple of itineraries, and that became the first thing that clicked with them.
"One thing that was very special to us was the customized itinerary which was given to us. It was very much based on our needs," said one of the friends from the group.
Four guys from Tamil Nadu, nine days across Phuket, Koh Samui, and Krabi, and a trip that was built around what they actually wanted rather than a standard package pulled off a shelf. "Exceptional itinerary for us," Karthikeyan said.

Phuket was the First Place They Landed at
They landed in Phuket and were transferred to 77 Patong Hotel and Spa, which sat right in the middle of Patong and gave them exactly what Karthikeyan described as being on the prime spot.
"All the hotels and accommodation were very clean and neat. It was also in the prime spot, and whenever we wanted to celebrate something or go somewhere else, it was completely near to our location." For a group of four friends on a trip like this, location matters as much as the room itself, and Patong delivered on both.
The first full day was the Phi Phi Island speedboat tour, eight hours out on the Andaman Sea with lunch on the island. Phi Phi has an excellent shade of turquoise that makes everyone want to click a picture; the snorkelling is excellent, and the ride back in the late afternoon light is the kind of thing that makes a good day feel even better. Day three in Phuket was a leisure day, which for four friends in Patong meant the beach, the food, and whatever the evening had to offer.
Koh Samui Came Next
A lot of Thailand itineraries go Phuket to Krabi and leave it at that. This one added Koh Samui in between, and that changed the whole trip experience. The ferry from Phuket across to Koh Samui is a journey in itself, and they checked into Nantra Chaweng Beach on the island's most lively strip. The 2 Island Tour the next day covered Koh Tan and Koh Madsum by boat with lunch included, two smaller islands off the southern coast of Samui that have a quieter, more local feel than the main island.
…And Krabi was Saved for Last
The ferry from Koh Samui to Krabi brought them into the third and final leg, and Palm Paradise Aonang Resort in Ao Nang gave them their stay for three nights.
Day seven was the 7 Island Sunset Tour by longtail boat, one of Krabi's most celebrated experiences. Six hours moving between limestone karsts as the light changed through the afternoon, dinner included, and then luminescent plankton in the water after dark. For a group of four who had already done Phi Phi and the Koh Samui islands, this was a different and more dramatic version of island hopping that landed as the highlight of the Krabi leg.
Day eight was the Krabi Jungle Tour, eight hours covering the Emerald Pool, the Hot Spring Waterfall, and Tiger Cave Temple with lunch in the middle. The Emerald Pool is a natural turquoise pool in the middle of the rainforest that is exactly as striking as it sounds. The Hot Spring Waterfall has geothermally warmed water cascading into bathing pools in the forest, which after a full day of walking feels like exactly the right reward. Tiger Cave Temple at the end of over 1000 steps gave them views over Krabi that put the whole nine days into perspective.
The last morning was the SUV back to the airport and the flight home.
How Thrillophilia Made the Things Look Better on Trip
Karthikeyan was clear and specific about what made the difference. "Whatever they (Thrillophilia) suggested, they took care of all the things. Even they gave an eSIM for our travel purpose." "Whenever we wanted to celebrate something or go somewhere else, it was completely near to our location," Karthikeyan said. For friends on a group trip, that kind of central positioning makes a real difference to how much you can do and how easily you can do it.
And then there was the availability of customer support whenever something goes wrong. "Their availability is really appreciable," Karthikeyan said, and for a nine-day trip across three destinations with ferry crossings, shared and private transfers, and multiple activities to coordinate, knowing that someone is reachable throughout is not a small comfort.
"We are a group of four members, and they organised a private trip for us which was completely what we asked for," Karthikeyan said. "Out of 10, we would give a rating of 9.5 for this amazing trip."
