Thailand trips are often either too rushed or too relaxed. Some travellers spend the entire vacation hopping from one place to another without really absorbing anything, while others stay in one destination long enough to feel like they missed half the country.
Arnab and Rituparna’s Thailand trip found a comfortable middle ground between the two.
Over eight days, they travelled through Bangkok, Krabi, and Phuket, covering these cities, having new experiences, island tours, cruises, and beaches.
Because the trip was planned with enough time to unwind before the next adventure began, they actually enjoyed the holiday instead of racing through it. Thillophilia’s sales manager, Mansi Shukla, was very helpful and handled everything from hotel stays to transfers and sightseeing.
What followed was the kind of Thailand itinerary most couples actually look for. A little fast-paced in parts, slow where it should’ve been, and filled with experiences that felt unique.
They Started the Trip with Bangkok’s Temples and Streets

They arrived in Bangkok on the 28th of February. Their private transfer was ready and waiting at Suvarnabhumi Airport. They checked into the Royal Benja Hotel within an hour and were finally able to relax after their flight.
You can't help but be awoken in an instant by Bangkok. No matter how tired you think you are after such a long journey, there is something about the city that just draws you in. The buses, congested roads, flashing signboards, food stalls on every street corner and temples calmly sat in the middle of all the mayhem just seem to gel.
The next morning began with a city tour covering Wat Traimit, Wat Mahapruttaram, and the Gems Gallery. The temple visits became one of the more memorable parts of their Bangkok stay. Wat Traimit especially stood out, not just because of its famous golden Buddha, but because of the atmosphere around the place. Despite tourists moving constantly through the complex, there was still a sense of calm inside.
That evening, they headed for the Chao Phraya Princess Dinner Cruise, which ended up becoming one of the highlights of Bangkok. The city looked completely different from the river. Bridges lit up across the skyline, Wat Arun glowed in the distance, and the reflections on the water made the entire evening feel cinematic without trying too hard.
Dinner cruises can sometimes feel overrated on paper, but this one delivered exactly what travellers hope for when booking it.
Krabi Showed Them the Slow Life
After Bangkok’s pace, Krabi felt noticeably calmer from the moment they arrived.
They checked into Tetris Hotel for a two-night stay, and the first evening was intentionally left open. No rushed sightseeing. No fixed plans. Just enough time to rest and take in the slower atmosphere of the destination.
The real experience began the next day with the Four Island Tour by long-tail boat.
The tour covered Tup Island, Chicken Island, Poda Island, and Phra Nang Cave Beach. While the islands themselves were beautiful, the long-tail boat ride became a huge part of the experience. The wooden boats, noisy engines, and the way passengers stepped directly into shallow water near the shore made the day feel far more real than polished luxury tours usually do.
Krabi itself carried a completely different energy from Bangkok. Things moved more slowly there. People stayed longer at beaches, conversations stretched over lunches, and even the island hopping never felt hurried.
By the end of the day, Arnab and Rituparna had exactly the kind of beach day most people imagine while planning Thailand vacations.
Phuket Brought the Big Finish
The fifth day was spent travelling to Phuket with a city tour as part of the transfer. As soon as they arrived in Phuket Old Town, it felt like they had stepped into a clearer version of the city.
The colourful Sino-Portuguese houses, tiny cafes and meandering streets created a totally relaxed atmosphere.
It contrasted both the upbeat vibe of Bangkok and the tranquil beaches of Krabi
Yet, the highlight of the trip to Phuket was the Phi Phi Island tour.
The speedboat tour covered Maya Bay, Bamboo Island, Monkey Beach, Pileh Lagoon, and Phi Phi Don. Unlike the slower rhythm of Krabi’s long-tail boats, this day felt bigger, louder, and far more energetic. The speedboats cut quickly through open water while one dramatic island appeared after another.
Maya Bay especially lived up to its reputation. Seeing the beach in person after years of watching it in travel videos and films felt surreal for them.
They returned exhausted by evening, but it was the satisfying kind of exhaustion that comes after spending an entire day outdoors under the sun.

The Kind of Trip Couples Actually Remember
Their final day in Phuket was left completely free, which turned out to be the perfect way to end the trip.
“Accommodations at Bangkok and Phuket were excellent. Our pickups were on time and apt. No complaints on that. Cruise and island visits were fun,” said Arnab when the trip was over.
After days filled with transfers, sightseeing, cruises, and island tours, they finally had time to slow down without worrying about the next activity on the itinerary. Slow breakfasts, relaxed walks, and an unplanned day by the coast ended the vacation on the right note.
What worked so well about that trip was the mixture of everything. Bangkok offered both a great nightlife and that late-night energy that couples usually like. Krabi gave them those peaceful island breaks, and Phuket provided the cheesy postcard ending that everyone hopes to achieve in Thailand.
All three places were relaxing transfers, the hotels were fine for the two, and it didn't seem to be exhausting to be going between three different cities in about ten days.
For Arnab and Rituparna, their holiday was a mix of pleasant days of perfect rhythm, interesting parts and lazy days which stayed in their memory even when they got back to their normal routine.
