Devika and her family covered Sri Lanka with a group of 30 people. Her own family had travellers of varying age groups, from children to seniors, all requiring different levels of attention and consideration.

8 days across Sri Lanka, multiple transfers, multiple hotels, one coordinated itinerary, and a plethora of activities planned for different age groups. There were a multitude of things that could’ve gone wrong. But through relentless availability checks, fine-tunings, and a team that ensured the family’s comfort at all times, Devika’s Sri Lanka review on Thrillophilia’s platform showcased how smoothly the entire trip flowed.

Our recent trip to Sri Lanka, arranged by Thrillophilia, was nothing short of extraordinary! Traveling with a large group of 30 people, including seniors, adults, and kids, we had specific requirements for our itinerary. Thanks to Mr. Piyush Gupta, who meticulously crafted a well-balanced plan, we got to experience the spiritual, adventurous, historic, serene and relaxing aspects of Sri Lanka—all in one trip!

A Warm Welcome to Sri Lanka: Journey to Sigiriya

A close encounter with Sri Lanka's majestic elephants made Devika's family trip even more special

The drive to Sigiriya itself eased them into their new destination as they left the capital behind, with the landscape slowed changing into lush forests, rural villages, and ancient heartlands, inviting the family in for a glimpse as to what to expect from the rewarding country of Sri Lanka. The team made it a point to allot their first day as a leisure day for the family to get acquainted with their surroundings' rhythm and rejuvenate from the travel fatigue, keeping in mind the children and seniors in the group.

The following day was marked by a meaningful excursion to Trincomalee. A visit to the revered Shankari Devi Temple carried special significance for the family, offering not just a spiritual experience but also a chance to connect with one of the island’s most important pilgrimage sites.

The day was especially memorable for the more senior members of the group, as their trip started with something that resonated within them without being physically demanding.

Returning to Sigiriya by the evening, the drive, yet again, became part of the day’s highlights in itself, with Sri Lanka’s green getting bathed in the setting sun’s soft glow while their car drove through it all.

The Halt in Kandy and the Way to Nuwara Eliya

Kandy offered a very different atmosphere from the island’s heartland, which the family had gotten so familiarised with. As Sri Lanka’s cultural capital, it felt vibrant yet deeply rooted in tradition, providing the family with a glimpse into another chapter of the country’s heritage.

With a comfortable overnight stay, the family took a break here, unwinding from the trip’s pace that felt so on par with their own, before continuing with their journey into Nuwara Eliya.

Most Sri Lanka trips mark Nuwara Eliya as one of their trip highlights and for good reason. As they approached it, almost as if on cue, the tropical scenery gave way to cool mountain air, neatly terraced tea plantations, and mist-covered hills. For the younger travellers, the winding roads and the changing scenery made the drive an adventure in itself, while the older members of the family welcomed the cooler and tranquil surroundings.

Bentota: The Last Leg of the Tour

Surrounded by rolling hills and cascading waterfalls, Devika & her Partner enjoyed the natural beauty of Sri Lanka

Nuwara Eliya’s cool, mist-covered hills soon paved the way for the Kakarala daily to descend towards the island’s tropical coastline, Bentota.

The team had already briefed them about the trip logistics and their reasoning before their departure, so Devika already knew the en route sightseeing was to ensure the family got as much coverage as possible without affecting their comfort levels. So the pauses at St Clair's Falls and Devon Falls broke the journey beautifully, offering moments to stretch, admire the cascading waterfalls, and capture family photographs against one of Sri Lanka's most scenic backdrops.

After reaching their hotel in Bentota and the sun slowly dipping into the horizon, the family found themselves slowing down naturally, enjoying a quiet sunset that felt like a well-earned reward after days of exploration.

The next day was dedicated entirely to exploring Bentota with a guide, who took their exploration beyond what the interest suggested. Cruising along the Madu River, they drifted through dense mangrove forests and, as their guide pointed out, discovered an ecosystem that thrives where the river and sea meet. Their sightseeing closed with a visit to the turtle hatchery, a conservatory dedicated to protecting endangered sea turtles.

After lunch, the day unfolded at each family’s members’ own pace. While the younger ones were drawn to the excitement of water sports guided by professionals at the beach, the older travellers found equal joy in simply watching the waves roll in from the shore.

This was the balance, consistent throughout the trip, that made the entire family feel content through all 8 days.

How Thrillophilia’s Team made the Trip

Devikarani’s Sri Lanka review on Thrillophilia’s platform ended on a note that proved how much the trip’s success meant to her and how the trip-support personnel, Pratik and Piyush, ensured she could experience it with her family as smoothly as possible while seeing that all logistics were configured in advance.

“Highly Recommended! If you are planning a Sri Lanka trip, Thrillophilia, especially Mr. Piyush and Mr. Pratik, are the people to trust! They delivered a well-organized, memorable, and hassle-free experience, perfectly balancing spirituality, adventure, history, and relaxation. Our group of 30 returned with hearts full of gratitude and memories to last a lifetime!”

It’s the care that made the trip successful, and Devika didn’t forget to highlight that throughout her review.
