Long before the bookings were made, the Maldives had already found its place in Arya and Dheeraj's conversations.
It had been sitting on their wishlist for a long time, brought up every now and then in conversations with a simple, "We'll plan it someday." When that "someday" finally arrived, they didn't overcomplicate it. They weren't trying to squeeze every possible activity into four days or race from one attraction to another. They just wanted a few days where the biggest decision would be whether to spend the afternoon by the pool or in the ocean.
After landing in the Maldives and taking the speedboat to Coco Bodu Hithi Resort, they realised why the destination is on so many people's bucket lists. Calm blue water stretched in every direction, their water villa overlooked the lagoon, and life immediately seemed to move at a slower pace.
Looking back on their Maldives journey with Thrillophilia, Arya described it, saying, "The staff there was very helpful and planned a beautiful itinerary for us. Maldives was heavenly."
The rest of the trip unfolded much the same way. Each day brought something different, but there was never a sense of rushing from one activity to the next. It was a holiday where the destination itself became the experience, giving them enough time to enjoy both the island and each other's company.
Settling Into Island Life at Coco Bodu Hithi
Their first afternoon wasn't about rushing into activities. Instead, they explored the resort, admired the endless shades of blue surrounding the island, and slowly settled into the pace of Maldivian life. One of the experiences that stood out was visiting the coral nurseries, where they learnt about the resort's ongoing efforts to restore marine life. Watching tiny coral fragments grow into thriving reefs added an unexpected layer to the trip, making it more than just another beach holiday.
As evening arrived, they headed to Stars Restaurant, where dinner came with uninterrupted sunset views across the Indian Ocean. It quickly became one of those evenings they knew they'd remember long after returning home. As Dheeraj later laughed, "We kept saying we'd take a few photos and then ended up just sitting there watching the sunset instead."
Sometimes, the best plans are the ones you forget because the moment itself is enough.
Slow Days, Quiet Moments, and New Experiences
The second day gave them complete freedom to enjoy the island however they wanted.
They spent time walking along the beach, relaxing by their villa, and considering a sandbank escape before eventually deciding to simply enjoy the resort at their own pace. Later in the evening, they watched a movie under the stars. That became one of those simple experiences for them that somehow feels far more memorable when you're surrounded by the sound of gentle waves.
It wasn't a day packed with sightseeing, but neither of them wanted it to be. Arya later summed it up perfectly. "There was never any pressure to keep doing something. We could just enjoy the place, and honestly, that's what made it feel like a real holiday."
Those slower moments gradually became some of their favourites.
Exploring the Ocean Together

Their final full day brought a little more adventure. The crystal-clear waters around Coco Bodu Hithi offered countless ways to explore the island. Whether it was diving alongside colourful marine life, trying water sports, paddling through calm lagoons, or simply relaxing by the shore, the day naturally balanced excitement with relaxation.
Later, they stopped by Latitude Cocktail Bar before ending the evening with dinner at Tsuki, the resort's Japanese restaurant, where fresh sushi and ocean views made for the perfect final dinner in the Maldives.
Looking back, Dheeraj joked, "Every time we thought the island couldn't get any prettier, we'd discover another corner that looked even better." It became one of those trips where the destination never stopped surprising them.
How Thrillophilia Helped Everything Fall Into Place
When friends later asked Arya and Dheeraj about the trip, they didn't immediately start talking about the water villa or the beaches. Instead, they spoke about how easy the entire experience had felt because everything had already been arranged through Thrillophilia.
Their airport transfers, speedboat rides, resort stay, meals, and accommodation were all coordinated beforehand, allowing them to simply enjoy each day without constantly checking bookings or schedules.
Arya especially appreciated that feeling of not having to manage the holiday herself. "Everything was already sorted before we even reached. We could just enjoy every day without worrying about what came next." Dheeraj felt much the same. "The itinerary had a nice balance. We had enough planned to experience the island, but there was still plenty of free time to just relax together."
By the end of the trip, Arya knew she wanted to share her experience with others as well. While leaving her review, she wrote, "The staff there was very helpful and planned a beautiful itinerary for us. Maldives was heavenly."
As they boarded the speedboat back to the airport, neither of them felt like they were leaving after just four days. Somehow, the island had a way of making time feel slower while they were there and much faster when it was time to leave.
They returned home with hundreds of photographs, plenty of stories, and a long list of little moments they still laugh about. These moments had everything from sunset dinners and movie nights under the stars to quiet mornings on their villa deck with nothing but the sound of the ocean around them. Looking back, they realised that the trip wasn't memorable because they did something extraordinary every hour. It was memorable because, for a few days, life became beautifully uncomplicated, and they got to enjoy every bit of it together.
