"My Kerala trip was an amazing experience! The arrangements were well taken care of. Our cab driver was friendly and knowledgeable about the local areas, which added to our enjoyment. We had a blast on the Jeep safari, hot air balloon ride, zip line, and boating. Staying in a boathouse for a day was a unique experience, and the service was great. The natural beauty of Kerala is truly stunning. Thanks for making it a memorable journey!"
-Hemant Amode
Planning a holiday for three generations is never easy.
The interests of a five-year-old are very different from those of grandparents, and finding experiences that everyone can enjoy often becomes the biggest challenge. Yet for the Amode family, Kerala seemed to have an answer for everyone.
Over five days, Hemant and Leena travelled with their children, Purvi and Takshay, along with Raghunath and Shakuntala, exploring some of Kerala's most loved destinations.
Munnar Was Much More Than Tea Gardens

Munnar is all about tea plantations and mountain views. The Amode family certainly enjoyed those, but what made their stay memorable was how much there was to do beyond sightseeing.
Their journey into the hills began with stops at Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls. The sight of water rushing down the rocks immediately set the tone for the trip. Purvi and Takshay were fascinated by the waterfalls, while the adults found themselves stopping frequently for photographs against the backdrop of Kerala's lush greenery.
The following day brought even more experiences.
Viewpoints around Munnar offered sweeping views of rolling hills covered with tea estates. At places like Echo Point and Kundala Lake, the family spent time simply enjoying the cool weather and open landscapes that felt completely different from city life.
But it was the adventure activities that truly added excitement to their stay.
As Hemant later shared in his review, the family thoroughly enjoyed experiences like ziplining, boating, and even a hot air balloon ride. These activities added a sense of fun that appealed across generations. While the younger members were thrilled by the excitement, the adults appreciated having experiences they could enjoy together rather than simply watching from the sidelines.
Munnar proved that a hill station holiday could be both relaxing and adventurous at the same time.
Thekkady Brought Out Everyone's Adventurous Side

After the hills of Munnar, the family continued towards Thekkady.
The scenery changed, but the sense of adventure remained.
Thekkady is known for its forests and wildlife, and the family was eager to experience a different side of Kerala. Surrounded by greenery, the region felt wilder and less crowded than the hill stations they had just explored.
One of the highlights here was the Jeep Safari experience.
Rather than simply visiting a viewpoint or attraction, the safari allowed them to venture deeper into the natural landscapes around Periyar. The rough tracks and forest surroundings made the ride exciting, especially for the younger travellers, who treated it as another adventure.
Hemant specifically mentioned the Jeep Safari among the highlights of the trip, and it was easy to see why. Experiences like these create stories that stay with families long after the holiday ends.
A Houseboat Stay Became the Perfect Ending
If Munnar brought adventure and Thekkady brought exploration, Alleppey brought something entirely different.
It brought time to slow down.
By the time the family stepped aboard their houseboat, they had already spent several days moving between destinations and activities. The backwaters offered an opportunity to simply sit back and enjoy the surroundings.
As the houseboat glided through narrow canals and open stretches of water, Kerala revealed another side of itself. Coconut trees lined the banks, fishing boats moved quietly across the waterways, and small villages appeared along the route.
For the children, watching life unfold along the backwaters was an experience in itself. For the older members of the family, the peaceful atmosphere became one of the most enjoyable parts of the trip.
Meals were shared onboard, conversations stretched longer than usual, and there was no pressure to rush from one attraction to another. Hemant described the houseboat stay as a unique experience, and it became one of those moments that often define a Kerala holiday.
Why They Chose Thrillophilia ?
A trip involving grandparents, parents, and young children requires more than a good itinerary.
It requires careful planning and reliable support throughout the journey.
For the Amode family, that support came from both the on-ground team and the planning that went into the trip beforehand.
Hemant particularly appreciated their driver, describing him as friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the journey. Having someone familiar with the region made travelling between destinations easier and allowed the family to focus on enjoying the experience rather than worrying about logistics.
The trip was coordinated by Pankaj Soni from Thrillophilia, who helped bring together an itinerary that balanced sightseeing, adventure, relaxation, and family-friendly experiences.
Looking back, Hemant summed it up best:
"The natural beauty of Kerala is truly stunning. Thanks for making it a memorable journey."
From waterfalls and zip lines to Jeep Safaris and houseboats, the trip offered something for every member of the family. More importantly, it gave them the chance to experience it all together, creating memories that would stay with them long after the journey ended.
