Kerala trip reviews often focus on the destinations, the backwaters, the hills, the greenery that seems to stretch endlessly outside the window. But for Abhijit Kar and Sonali Paramanick, the trip became memorable because of how naturally everything came together over five days. Munnar, Thekkady, Alleppey, and Kochi each brought a completely different atmosphere, and somewhere between long drives, quiet sunsets, and conversations on the road, the journey slowly settled into something they knew they would remember for a long time.
Before the trip even began, Sangini from the Thrillophilia team stayed closely involved in the planning process, helping them understand how each destination would fit into the itinerary. That clarity before travelling made the experience feel far more predictable and relaxed once they finally arrived in Kerala at the end of December.
The Roads to Munnar Already Felt Like the Start of the Trip

The drive from Kochi to Munnar rarely feels like just a transfer, and this trip was no different. The roads slowly curved upward through stretches of greenery, roadside waterfalls, and mist-covered hills that appeared without warning around sharp bends. Somewhere along the way, the noise of everyday life began fading into the background.
Munnar itself carried a slower rhythm. Early mornings arrived with cool air drifting through the hills, while the tea-covered landscapes made even short drives feel scenic. The sightseeing around Munnar moved through lakes, viewpoints, waterfalls, and quiet stretches of road where the scenery often became the highlight on its own.
One of the moments that stayed with Abhijit and Sonali was the stillness around the lake. The reflection of forests and mountains resting perfectly over the water gave the place an almost unreal calmness. Nothing about it felt rushed. It was simply one of those pauses during a journey that naturally stays back in memory.
Throughout this part of the trip, the coordination remained smooth. Hotel check-ins, transfers, and sightseeing timings were already aligned well in advance, which meant they could focus more on experiencing the destination rather than figuring out logistics every few hours.
Thekkady Brought a Different Side of Kerala

The journey toward Thekkady slowly changed the scenery again. Dense forests replaced open hillsides, and the roads became quieter as the drive moved deeper into Kerala’s spice-growing regions.
Thekkady had a different atmosphere from Munnar. Less crowded, less hurried, and far more grounded in nature. Waterfalls hidden between rocky landscapes became unexpected highlights during sightseeing. The sound of water crashing against large stones, surrounded by thick greenery and morning sunlight, made the entire region feel untouched in places.
The cave visit added another layer to the experience altogether. Narrow pathways carved through rock formations and dimly lit interiors gave the outing a sense of exploration that contrasted sharply with Kerala’s calmer landscapes outside.
Their driver also played an important role throughout the trip. Long intercity drives can easily become exhausting, especially during multi-destination journeys, but his friendly nature and familiarity with the routes made the travel between places feel comfortable instead of tiring.
Abhijit later mentioned that even during moments of confusion or concern, the Thrillophilia support team stayed reachable and calm. Sangini, in particular, handled situations patiently and remained consistently supportive throughout the journey, something the couple deeply appreciated after returning home.
Alleppey Slowed Everything Down in the Best Way

After the hills and forests of Munnar and Thekkady, Alleppey brought an entirely different pace.
The backwaters carried a kind of silence that immediately changes the mood of a trip. During the evening shikara ride, the water reflected fading sunlight while coconut trees lined the narrow canals stretching into the distance. Boats moved slowly across the water, and for a while, there was nothing louder than the sound of gentle ripples against the boat.
It became one of the quieter highlights of the entire Kerala journey.
Alleppey did not rely on activities or packed sightseeing schedules to leave an impression. Its charm came from slowing people down without them even realising it. By the time the evening settled over the backwaters, the trip no longer felt like a checklist of destinations. It had started feeling personal.
Kochi Was the Right Place to End It All

Kochi brought the journey to a calm close before their departure for home.
The city carried a completely different identity compared to the rest of Kerala they had explored over the previous days. Colonial buildings, old churches, local streets, and coastal humidity gave Kochi a quieter historical character.
One of the visuals that stayed with them was a white church standing beneath tall palm trees under an overcast sky. It was simple, peaceful, and deeply connected to the atmosphere Kerala carries so naturally across its towns and cities.
By the final day, the trip had settled into a collection of moments rather than a fixed itinerary. Long drives through hills, peaceful waters in Alleppey, forest roads in Thekkady, and calm evenings in Kochi had all blended together into something that felt complete without trying too hard.
When Abhijit shared his Kerala trip review later, the appreciation extended beyond the destinations themselves. The planning support from Sangini, the responsiveness of the Thrillophilia team, the smooth coordination during the trip, and the friendly nature of the driver all became equally important parts of the experience.
There were a few things they felt could have been improved, particularly some hotel locations, but the overall journey remained memorable for how supported and stress-free it felt throughout.
Some trips are remembered because everything goes perfectly. Others stay because the people involved know how to handle things even when they don’t.
For Abhijit and Sonali, Kerala became a little bit of both.
