Six days in Kashmir can cover a surprising amount of ground. Between Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonmarg, the itinerary moves through lakes, mountain meadows, river valleys, and some of the most popular attractions in the region.
For Vineeth and his friends, that variety became one of the best parts of the trip.
A conversation with Bhanu Gangwar from Thrillophilia was all it took to get things moving. Once the itinerary was locked in, the group packed their bags and set off for a journey that would take them across some of Kashmir's most celebrated landscapes.
From peaceful mornings on Dal Lake to adventure-filled afternoons in Gulmarg and scenic drives through the valleys, every day seemed to reveal a different side of the region.
Here's what stood out the most.
Dal Lake and Srinagar's Timeless Charm

The first thing that truly slowed the group down was the Shikara ride.
After days of planning, airport schedules, and travelling, Dal Lake seemed to operate on an entirely different rhythm. The boat moved gently across the water as Srinagar revealed itself from a new perspective. Traditional houseboats floated quietly nearby, vendors navigated the lake in small wooden boats, and the mountains stood watch in the distance.
For an hour, there was nowhere to rush and nothing to check off a list.
It was simply a chance to absorb the atmosphere that has made Dal Lake one of India's most iconic experiences.
Earlier, the group had spent time exploring Srinagar's famous Mughal gardens. Walking through Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh felt like stepping into another era. Terraced lawns, flowing water channels, colourful flowers, and towering chinar trees created spaces that felt carefully designed to celebrate the beauty of the valley.
The day ended with a stroll through Lal Chowk, where the city's energy returned in full force. Markets buzzed with activity, shops displayed traditional Kashmiri products, and locals carried on with their evening routines. Together, these experiences revealed a side of Srinagar that went far beyond its postcard image.
Gulmarg: Where the Adventure Began

Cameras came out long before the gondola reached the top.
With every passing minute, the landscape seemed to grow larger. Meadows stretched across the valley floor while mountain ridges rose layer upon layer in the distance. The higher the cable car climbed, the more dramatic the views became.
For Vineeth and his friends, the gondola ride quickly became one of the standout moments of the trip.
Yet what made Gulmarg memorable wasn't just the view from above.
The entire destination felt alive with activity. Horses moved along mountain trails, travellers explored the surrounding slopes, and adventure enthusiasts searched for their next experience. Everywhere they looked, there seemed to be something happening.
Looking back on the journey, this variety was one of the things Vineeth appreciated most.
As he shared:
"The people are really friendly with tourists since tourism is their main source of income. There are a lot of activities like horse riding, cable car rides, boating, rafting, hiking, etc. Very beautiful scenery to watch. Thank you, Thrillophilia."
That combination of breathtaking scenery and endless opportunities for exploration gave Gulmarg an energy that felt completely different from Srinagar.
And Kashmir was far from finished, surprising them.
Pahalgam and Sonmarg: Valleys That Refused to Look Alike

By the time Vineeth and his friends reached Pahalgam, they had already seen lakes, gardens, and mountain meadows.
Yet the valley still managed to feel completely different.
The roads wound through dense pine forests while rivers rushed alongside the landscape, adding movement and sound to every view. The atmosphere felt relaxed, almost inviting visitors to slow down and spend more time outdoors.
Although seasonal Amarnath Yatra restrictions affected access to some planned locations, the valley still offered plenty to experience. Horse riding trails, rafting opportunities, and scenic viewpoints ensured that the day remained packed with memorable moments.
Then came Sonmarg.
Known as the Meadow of Gold, Sonmarg felt larger, wilder, and more dramatic. The mountains seemed taller. The rivers appeared faster. Every turn in the road revealed another view that looked impossible to ignore.
What made Sonmarg special wasn't a single attraction.
It was the scale of the landscape itself.
The valley seemed to stretch endlessly towards distant glaciers, while streams cut through open meadows surrounded by towering peaks. Even simple moments, such as standing beside a river or watching clouds move across the mountains, felt memorable.
Together, Pahalgam and Sonmarg revealed something important about Kashmir: every valley tells its own story.
Why Vineeth Chose Thrillophilia for Kashmir
Six days in Kashmir involved hotel stays, transfers, sightseeing tours, activity bookings, and travel between multiple destinations. The fact that Vineeth and his friends rarely had to think about any of those details became one of the strongest indicators of how smoothly the trip had been planned.
The hotels offered comfortable stays after long days of exploring, transportation remained well organised throughout the journey, and the itinerary made it possible to experience several different sides of Kashmir within a single holiday. Even when a flight delay led to a change in plans and seasonal restrictions affected parts of the Pahalgam sightseeing, the trip continued to offer plenty of memorable experiences along the way.
Looking back, Vineeth summed up the journey best in his Reddit review:
"On the 2nd day, we went to visit the Shalimar Bagh and the Nishat Bagh. And then we went to the Shikara ride in Dal Lake, which was awesome. On the 3rd day, we went to Gulmarg for a gondola ride. There were many activities like horse riding, gondola rides, skiing, sledging, etc., and it was very fun... Overall, it was quite a beautiful and memorable experience which will always be in my heart. The hotel stays were really great. Thank you, Thrillophilia."
